Al Quraan has many layers, some of the layers open for those who have Taqwa and who do taffakur, and use Aqal. This young man has put these two prophets mind blowing comparison in a way, that I never heard or know in my 52 years of life. We heard two parts in 1.3 hours two videos, I am sure its the taffakur of more than 20 years or more. May ALLAH bless Ustaad Nauman Ali Khan more knowledge and through him ALLAH bless us more. Ameen

"It's also pretty amazing that the conservation of water saved Egypt (in the story of Yusuf AS), and in the end, it is water itself that destroyed Egypt in the story of Musa AS. This is Allah teaching us that something can be a blessing when you approach it the right way, and that same thing can turn into a curse when you approach it the wrong way. The breeze we feel that gives us relief, that same breeze can turn into a tornado, that same breeze can destroy life."

The way he explains, wallahi, he's gifted to understand 'and explain' Qur'an just beautifully. He explains so well that the listeners are forced to indulge themselves in the depths of the Qur'an and be amazed by it. I could have never thought of comparing the lives of these profound prophets before. Now I want to apply this phenomena with the lives of every prophet mentioned in the holy book. I have to say he's amazing and brings out the beauty of Islam out of the Qur'an and pours it in the hearts of believers with so much love. It's superb really. Masha Allah, may Allah continue to guide him and us till our time in this world comes to an end and we shall feel not fear but joy at the thought of meeting and spending our lives by our Creator's side in Jannah. Its great to see someone appreciating emotions, often when people are sad/angry/anxious others see it as a malfunction like a machine. So they just say don’t be sad! When they see someone depressed. But its always better to embrace emotions they are a creation of Allah also. Therefore I find story of Yaqoob especially touching. He is somehow even relatable to me I lost my teardrop canals from crying years ago, but I’m glad patience and holding onto belief made everything better.

Notes: Yusuf- started of as a shepherd then turned into royalty Musa- bought up as royalty then became a shepherd Yusuf- Water was scarce and caused drought. Prophet Yusuf helped save Egypt from an economical collapse. Musa- Caused a flood as it was an overwhelming amount of water, harsh contrast to prophet Yusuf. Yusuf- Led the Israelites into Egypt. Musa- Led the Israelites out of Egypt. Yusuf- Father (Yaqoub AS) afraid of internal threat. (Yusuf's brothers) Musa- Mother, afraid of external threat (the soldiers of the Pharaoh) Yusuf- Spiritual nurturing, roles reversed. (Teens) need to be spoken to like an adult. (explaining serious topics with young adults.) Musa- Physical nurturing. Children (babies) need this nourishment (hugs, feedings) Yusuf- Mother is missing. Musa- Father is missing. This is done (we assume) so we can focus on one parent at a time. Musa- Musa's mother was able to let put her emotions aside due to the revelation as Allah tells her that Musa will come back. Fear to long term worry. Yusuf- Yusuf's Father- worry to fear when Yusuf's brothers come back drenched in blood. Holds his dispair with Sabr. Wasn't given a revelation from Allah. Turns blind from crying. Quran teaches us to take matters into our own hands. In any given situation we should make the most of it and not give up sabr. Sabr- Feeling all emotions sadness, anger, grief but still keeping belief in Allah. Family is coming to Yusuf because they need a source of risque. Mother of Musa came to Musa since Musa needed a source of risque. Yusuf- Told that a reunion will happen through revelation. Musa's mother- Told that a reunion will happen through revelation. Yusuf- Story started in a well (still water.) Musa- Story started in a river (flowing water) Yusuf- Ended up in Egypt with the permission of the king. Musa- Left Egypt without permission of the king.

We must also appreciate, how Musa (a.s)'s sister didn't question her mother, as he mentioned. I believe anyone else would have questioned at least once, but she didn't. It shows the amount of trust she had on her mother's decisions and their bond. Their understanding. I think it's amazing to have that unquestionable trust and understanding between the mother and daughter that they even understand each other's silence and unspoken words.

Yusuf(AS)'s father had no support and couldn't do anything(brother's were rebels, Small brother was very small). Musa(AS)'s mother had a daughter who was good and could do something[she followed him(AS)]. 18. Yusuf(AS)'s father was optimistic without any guarantee. Musa(AS)'s mother was optimistic with divine guarantee. 19. Yusuf(AS)'s father met Yusuf(AS) years later. Musa(AS)'s mother met Musa(AS) hours later. 20. Yusuf(AS) was the source of nourishment and his(AS)'s family was starving. Musa(AS)'s was the source of nourishment and he(AS) was starving. 21. Wonderful, wonderful video. As I was hearing the comparisons, it also struck me that Yaqub (a.s) was the male parent giving way to his emotions and crying, and this was not mentioned for Musa (a.s)'s mother, whereas in our times crying and being emotional is usually auto-attributed to women, and seen as a weakness that 'masculinity' repels "men don't cry". Also striking about the mother being given revelation instead of the father.... A mother's mercy for her child is so great, it's so strong that she would have cracked if she simply had a "feeling" to put her baby into the water, Allah knows the mothers softness towards her child, so He gave her conviction that she would see him again. Had Yaqub AS had that conviction he would not have had such sorrow, the sorrow which would make his sons regret their decision and seek forgiveness, the kind of sorrow that shows us (in today's times) how much love parents have for their children, the kind of sorrow that makes ur eyes blind. Subhanallah the perfection of my Master. Unparalled.

it is very interesting the way you handled this issue , Mashaallah

It's like Hazrat Yusuf A.S and Hazrat Musa A.S are in a loop of each other's situations... where one ends the other one starts in the opposite way.....SubhanAllah what a remarkable comparison...

Yesterday, I began to watch & listen to Sura Yousuf Series. You've explained the two legacies in such an incredibly analytical way. Besides, I've laughed too the way you succumb to imitating aunties showing affection to their 14 year child in Pakistan. It still is the same here in Pakistan. lol! I'm so excited about this journey of learning & deeply connecting with a magnificent part of Quran. Thank you for sharing your wisdom & knowledge with us.

I once heard NAK make this comparison while telling the story of Musa (aws), I'm blown away by the way Allah tells the stories and even written the parallel lives of these amazing prophets.
