So 3-5 years ago got a PC for Christmas. 1060 and i5-5700 Intel CPU. when the crypto pieces dropped drastically a little while ago I bought an 1070 to upgrade. Could have done 1080 to but my PC has rivits holding everything in, and big mounts for the DVD drive. Small case, had to take tin snips and cut out the holders for the disk drive just to make the card fit in the case. I hate prebuilds for the fact they are just trying to do what every other tech company does, nad not allowing us the right to repair. But luckily they aren't dominating the market and we still fight back.

I have to disagree here. I bought my HP gaming pc thru Walmart on a Black Friday sale back in 2018. 1000$ pc for 400$ and out of the box I upgraded the 16gb of ram to 32. till this day has given me no issues. I’ll clean it out yearly and did look into it’s details to see I can still upgrade it today if I wanted to. Granted can only go up to a i7 from an i5 and of course graphics card but I’ve always thought it isn’t broke don’t fix it. I think it just depends the company you’re buying your prebuilt through.

I'm so confused about the gpu replacement. The whole short talks about the cpu overheating. Also I have to wonder if the heat from the overheating cpu would eventually melt the glue? Or if it's possible to melt the glue with heat and solvent without causing any further damage?

@ethansheesha7709 10 ай бұрын
As a gamer, buying a prebuilt is an absolute waste of money. Your paying for overpriced parts, sometimes things arent built right, your paying for labor, and now this. Im pretty sure a 6 year old could build a pc nowadays, everything has gotten so simple. You basically play a game called "match the plug with the connector" lol i mean the cursed f panel is even starting to get phased out
@fighterpimp
@fighterpimp 9 ай бұрын
Yes it is simple to put it together. But what happens when it doesn't post. Do you know why it didn't post. Do you know how to check bios to make sure it first boot is right. Do you know how to install windows from a flash drive and how to get windows to the flash drive. Do you know how to flash over drivers for updates to wifi drives to start pc updates. Do you know how to fix other issues of more high end components not being in sync for argb. This is why people just want prebuilts made. There is time and effort that goes into making a pc and some people either don't have the time, don't want to use their time, or just don't have the ability in general to build a pc. I bought a prebuilt before. No issues for me. Cost me as much it it would of cost me to build it myself. So I didn't see the issue. The parts if I sourced them myself would of costed me like 50 bucks cheaper then what is in the prebuilt. Yet I didn't have to do any of the work and just plug and play. So I'll spend a extra 50 bucks all day. To not have to do 1-4 hours of work and plus part sourcing which adds another 1-4 hours if not more.
@ethansheesha7709
@ethansheesha7709 9 ай бұрын
@fighterpimp iv never had a pc that didn't post. The appeal to building your own pc is its "yours". You can customize it yourself. There is appeal to buying a rebuilt but I'll tell you from personal experience building is way more fun than just pulling it out of the box and then tada, pc. Downloading software literally takes 20 minutes. Windows install is the easiest part. 9 times out of 10 if the pc didn't post, there's either a loose connector or the power supply isn't turned on or f panel, which isn't even a big deal anymore because it's all one plug in some pc towers. Don't get me wrong buying a rebuilt was probably in your best interest because of whatever factors but there's definitely an appeal to building a pc and it's not that hard to diagnose problems. If it doesn't turn on at all its either psu or f panel. Once it turns on install windows, it takes 20 minutes. Once windows is installed, open the pc, download drivers which takes like 5 minutes each, then start downloading apps. If your an inclined builder that can take a person 3 hours to do literally all of that.
