Baz knows his shit. Having a quality mechanic on your doorstep is a god send. I'm having loads of issues with my 208 gt line but I live in walsall where most of the mechanics are more used to fixing camels or elephants 😢

My last car was a diesel and it had over 400,000 on the clock when I got rid of it. The only times the dpf gave me trouble was when the glow plugs were failing and when an exhaust gas temperature sensor died. Apart from those instances, the dpf never gave trouble as I did long motorway runs in the car and not stop start/short trip driving. Diesels are great workhorses but if you just use them as school run cars, you’ll have no end of trouble.

It seems to me that most modern mechanics can only do what the computer tells them. They never learned properly and are not mechanics like you but simple technicians who don't even understand what they are doing. If the computer can't fix it they are stuffed.God knows what will happen to the electric cars!? So many of them will end up scrapped because of a broken wire or fuse because so few people will have the knowledge to diagnose and fix them. Excellent work as always Baz.

A garage i know failed my transit on emissions i said thats a rebuilt engine that had been run-in (remember that) i pointed out the temp gauge still on the pin cold he says the oils hot according to the sensor stuck in the dipstick hole' so i lost it with this idiot did'nt even know what an optimum temp is god know how many cars he had failed testing cold , i said cancel the test were an argument ensued so i pulled the sensor out the dipstick tube shut the bonnet & backed the van out the garage never did go back' as you say those so-called mechanics are lost when the computor dont tell them what the issue is . not only that too much crap hanging off engines nowadays

my first thought with MAF out of spec would have been stuck open EGR, well diagnosed on the intercooler
@WonderLadGamesАй бұрын
The codes for the A/F sensor 1 is a know fault by Honda. Where the sensor requires replacement. That engine is the high powered N16 engine where the twin turbos leak oil and normally fill the intercooler. So they require reconditioning or replacing

I've been caught out with air mass meters before. How do you know what a normal reading is through it? I had an option to look at the learned values and noticed the reading was different to what was expected by the ecu. I unplugged it and the vehicle ran good off the learned map. I've always wanted data that specified how many kg/m of air was going through the air mass at idle and then at 3000 rpm. Same with differential pressure data. Would make life a lot easier. Do you know where this level of data is available? I had a look on all data and i couldn't find anything like that.

@@georgenice yes and it's also slow fault which can be caused by boost leaks.... I'll happily chuck hundreds of pounds of parts on customers cars hoping they fix them!!!
