I remember going on a Mystery of Sixes boat cruise back in the early 80's. Still have the ticket. It proudly reads " not the ZZZ flop, but the triple 6 top". Was an excellent night. have some great photos of the night. If my memory serves me correctly the Kremlin also played that night. But it was some years ago:) Brisbane in the 80's had some wonderful bands.

very true! my uncle took me to the second ever livid festival in 1989 for my 10th birthday present and started me on this shitfest which has been my life journey! it was still run by 4zzz then and wasnt much like the comercial pop festival it later became, even though it was still great fun and all. i was able to jump the fence at those and make a dick of myself< my uncle would never let me do that shit at a triple z event! i remember mudhoney was the biggest and probably only foreign act but ut was tism who was the highlight for us! he still goes to all the local shows and even has his name up on the wall at 4zzz these days for his staunch support since day 1, he is probably responsible for making half of the subscribers too! its definitely like the sountrack and backdrop to my life whether i was willing participant or not! lol

@@BernieRamone351 yeah it’s Albert park at Roma st but I don’t think it’s actually a ‘market day’ coz they started under the story bridge, kangaroo point and didn’t move there till later on.

Just noticed Peter McPherson (Peter Pit?) supplied some of the archive footage used... hearing the words "The people that used to come and see us in Brisbane are (now) either dead, insane or living in Sydney.." I live in The Netherlands and every so often I get to see an Australian band here where there's one or more musician I knew in the early 80's, I get to speak to either before their gig or after and I hear about who's died, insane, in prison or otherwise and a couple of years ago the drummer of The Onyas told met that sadly, Peter McPherson had passed away..R.I.P Peter 💜*sigh* I've such fond memories of him, his brother, and everyone who used to go see The Pitts perform on the regular mainly for the laughs. I realised long ago how very spoiled I was growing up among the Brisbane music scene and even having friends and acquaintances in various bands... Some through my brother Oscar (R.I.P 2010) who was more into the Punk scene, others just through my own friends. ( I'm 99% sure I was at that Mystery of the Sixes gig shown and have photos, one of which is of a skinhead laughing after he'd just had a beer bottle smashed on his forehead smh.. 🤭) P.S I just remembered the only song I've ever written on a guitar was actually on Peter Pit's semi-acoustic Rickenbacker while temporarily lodging in his room in Sydney while he was away. The very lovely Roger Norris who I knew from This Five Minutes/Other Voices allowed me to stay (Redfern). Mark Lock (Bass player Died Pretty ) was also living there so naturally I went to see them play when they played in my (Dutch) city, as well as Tex Perkins. The latter has the dubious honour of supplying me my first ever mushroom trip lol as he was given a bag of fresh ones on his birthday (21st?, I was 16) 😹 Before I started reminiscing too much just one other P.S.S If anyone knows Dennis John Anderson (Horny Toads a.o) and knows of his whereabouts etc I would love to reconnect with him somehow 😻 I'd really appreciate any info you could provide or pass on my handle, 🙏💜

First clip is incorrectly titled as 'not a soul around', its actually called 'ALSO SPRACHT THE KING OF EURO-DISCO' and is the second track on the awesome 'rooms of the magnificent' album. Thanks for the upload! Huge fan of Aussie music from this era.
@carlrayson31044 жыл бұрын
For years everyone I knew (and we were all huge Ed Keupper fans, never missed a Yard Goes on Forever gig) thought that it was called "Still Winding Windows" until one day somebody noticed on a song list we souvenired one night that there was a song called "Also Spracht" on it. So we checked Rooms of the Magnificent and worked out we'd been calling one of our favourite songs the wrong name for years!
