My first ever test piece loved it and still do now. God test pieces used to be so much better to play back in the day nowadays it's about who can play the most notes perfectly, I find test pieces not great these days compared with how they used to be.

Was mine too! I’m a Bass Trombonist but played percussion for my first contest. Luckily I played it again a few years later. Still love it

it sounds very good...but the soprano cornet .... sometimes it sounds a bit horrible.. the intonation must be bether next time.... But all the other parts are exelentely....VERY GOOD!

Heard this performed the other day. Euphonium and soprano cornet were a little ropey in parts (so sounds like a similar experience to the one you had) but otherwise excellent and a very beautiful piece
