I'm over 60 & absolutely LOVE this sort of Ambient - esque EDM! Artists like you & Ajja, Hugo Kant, I all call "Dad EDM", as the younger 20-somethings I know who are into EDM are into Wayyyy heavier, more aggro EDM, with nothing but heavy throbbing beats, harsh "zzzt zzzzt zzzzt", which I simply don't "get", & they don't "get" this sort of thing. I pat myself on the back as I'm the same age as their parents, who don't even know what "EDM" stands for lol.

Why would I use vinyl?? They're very heavy to transport, inconvenient to mix with, most venues no longer have decks and I intensely dislike the lo-fi quality. Bear in mind I know what I'm talking about. For the first 6 or 7 years I used to release all my records on dual format - CD and vinyl. I used to attend the vinyl cutting/mastering process at arguably the best cutting/mastering studio in the UK (the Townhouse, London ) with one of the top vinyl mastering engineers in the business. I was *always* disappointed at the difference between the digital master and the resulting vinyl cut. Even with the best, most expensive cutting lathe, absolute best outboard equipment and top expertees doing his absolute best, quality was always compromised. It has to be. There is only so much signal level and frequency response you can squeeze onto the vinyl format - even on 12" single format at 45 rpm. I know that some people like the limited freq. response, high noise floor and crackles, but speaking as a producer I want the finished product to sound as much like the record I created it in the first place i.e the same as my final mix down /master. Which in practice means digital. As you can tell I'm not a vinyl fan! YMMV. If vinyl floats your particular boat, carry on by all means.
