If he kept his temper in check and had better work ethic he was a complete SG. Great scorer athletic and rough defender
@carlwallace11292 жыл бұрын
MAX already had a similar built and playstyle as John Starks eventhough Starks had them NBA jam hops to his game max might have been a little quicker when he was focused on both ends. 😉
@creoleDJ2 жыл бұрын
@@carlwallace1129 Max had hops also, I think his vertical was around 40 inches or so.
@carlwallace11292 жыл бұрын
@@creoleDJ ur right I've seen maxwell catch a couple alley oops 2handed back in 91/92 including 1back door on John Starks . But Max would mainly dunk around defenders or in the opencourt the times I saw.

Vernon Maxwell was the Clutch in Clutch city he hit 9 game clinching 3s in a short time span

Max didn't go after Jordan and Barkley as enthusiastic as he did the TV Guy...Strange I guess he didn't see Oakley and Mase out there when he was looking for trouble..rather look at the fans.

That a lot more then these soft NBA players today will do.

Max went after those 2 more than 95-99% of the NBA players at that time tho

If he was in the league today, he would get lot of suspension and lot of money taken out from his checks! When in control, HE WAS SUPER! amazing energy and playmaker. Brought a lot of energy yo

He's that dude that shuts down the pickup games in the gym or park, ends house parties by instigating fights, and makes people leave when he shows up because he is always running his mouth trying to build his reputation testing everybody's patience. The Woody Woodpecker of the NBA. #Troublemaker

But at least he wasn't all talk like all of these fake tough-guy crybabies (99% of the NBA today) Vernon would physically go after anyone on the court, regardless of size. I don't know if it was about reputation, dude was just crazy! 😂

It's unfortunate because in clutch City he said that he's not cut like that. Once he goes off he goes off. He doesn't know how to come back after that.

Cornbread was an outstanding basketball player. He was rarely flashy, but he was fundamentally solid, played smart ball, and you could depend on him to do what was in the best interest of the team and winning games. As a wily veteran late in his career he knew his role was to get under opponents' skin, get them out of rhythm, and be an enforcer protecting his younger talent. He didn't really have much of a short fuse in the early 80's playing with the Celtics, which is why I figure he developed this "short fuse" on purpose later on. These were calculated altercations on his part, and mostly directed at the other team's top star.

LOL Those are 2 different players. Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell played for the Celtics. This video is about Vernon "Mad Max" Maxwell who played for the Rockets.
