Barkley was undersized, and he's well past his prime here, but he's still blocking shots, tearing down rebounds, banging down low, and dishing out hard fouls. What a beast!

LOL undersized next to Malone sure. Back then i bet he was avg for forward regarding height above avg wingspan and weight. @@AC-nx7qr Bro, everyone has the desire to get a chip. Reread my comment.. You clearly misunderstand me. I mean that players from the 90's had super heated rivalries that drove them. Unlike now where players just go anywhere they want and create super teams cuz there is no real rivalries or hatred anymore. They are all friends and no one cares like that. Of course they want to win but the way they go about it is completely different. Back in the 90's you couldnt just easily up and leave and go to any team you wanted and create teams with your friends. Todays NBA is a joke.. Its why NBA's ratings are so bad now

Love Bill Walton's comment "that's just cheek to cheek ballroom dancing." lol. One of the things I hate about the NBA is it's so obvious when the league wants a certain team to win and you can see it so clearly in the way the refs are calling the game. At least back then the announcers would call it out that something was a clear foul or flop. Soon after that it was obvious that the announcers would get the word to go along with it and would either not talk about something again or show the replay about 20 times to point something out. And if a player or coach tried to point this out they'd get fined.

I loved Malone in that series. Houston ruined the Jazz play off runs many times before this series. I think it was before game 1 Malone was shown riding into the stadium on his motor cycle and just looked so bad ass. You could feel something in the air with that shot of him. Right away in game 1 the Mailman was playing so intense and in the faces of Barkley, Hakeem, and the other Houston bigs. Just going at them, not backing down, super physical. I said to my girlfriend "This is different, Karl's had enough being bullied by this team, they are winning this series." Such a great era, Stockton and Malone my fav players of all time, and was addicted to the Jazz from 88-02. Gosh I miss them.. sigh. NBA just means nothing to me these days.

Malone at this stage of their career was stronger, quicker and in better shape...but Barkley was more intelligent inside the court...

malone was better than barkley i would say around 95 and forward. practically same age, but barkley retired in 99 while maloney in 04....malone was better conditioned. his work ethic was the reason the jazz were in the finals in 97 & 98 against jordan, while his competition watching at home.

1997 was last year Barkley was still Barkley. Peak Barkley was slightly better than peak Malone in my eyes. But bodybuilder Malone had like 5 extra good years compare to donut eater Charles. Both didnt care if they hurt opponents physically if he they were in their way

Barkley was fun to watch but Malone was way better at everything in both ends, more consistent. MVP candidate for almost entire decade. Insane.

Barkleys peak> Malones peak, what you mean better at everything like what, I will give you he was a marginally better defender. Barkley was a superior player, Malone was more durable.

@@deni8814 Malone was better scorer, shooter, passer and defender. Malone peak he was 31-11. Barkley? Malone had Stockton. Barkley had 3 HoFs in Philly (only Dr was past prime), 3 all stars in Phoenix, 2 HoFs in Houston and still couldnt deliver. Barkley was just more fun to watch. Malone was the only one who made all nba for an entire decade in 90s. Just Kobe and Duncan did that in 00s. Malone skill wise was better than most pfs.

@@mr.e347 tripping to break it down as if Barkley skills isn't a factor. Malone is fortunate Barkley 6'5 and not 6'9. It would easily be a different story. Barkley way better than Malone too. Suns Barkley you ain't touching and when you speak about his game you speak about his suns days. When he went up against Jordan
