Hi, we've enjoyed both of your Picos vids. We are doing our first Picos trip in a few weeks and are now shamelessly using your GPX routes as we find we are staying in the campsite just down the road from that air b&b. Hope there are plenty of petrol stations, I'm on an MT10. You should do more vids, they are loads better than most on here👍

For those interested the KTM1290GT has had issues with horn, sidestand, warped front disk, pannier lids, fuel lines. All dealt with under warranty but on first name terms with dealer. It is however an awesome bike which does SPORTS touring very well, even 2 up when required. Just fitted Metzeler RoadTec01 which transform handling over OEM Road Angels. The 2007 98bhp 950SM mentioned here proves you really dont need 160bhp and electronics to enjoy some of the best twisties out there!

Agreed - the 950SM has more than enough power to nail the roads in the Picos. You're in 1st/2nd/3rd most of the time, and the agility of the SM is ideal. Wish I still had mine.

Enjoyed the video very much, though I was keen to hear your views on the 1290 GT long term, other than "there were a lot of niggle warranty issues". I get why the 990 SM would be a great tool on those roads, it was just a deviation from the premise of the vid. Having ridden the Pyrenees on a MTS, I know the GT would have been equally at home. That aside, stunning scenery and fun to watch. I now want to ride the Picos :-)

Great video guys. So true, I have not been in the Alps for 3 yrs now, prefer the Pyrenees, more quit and more affordable. In the summer, it can be packed with bikers in the Alps but not in the Pyrenees. Good food in Spain too. Great bikes too, I drive on my GSA all the way from Amsterdam, but any adventure bike works for these long trips.

Great video guys - the mountains looked great! Some friends and I went to the dolomites in June, which was epic (some long days in the saddle though). I do like the look of northern Spain, as once off the ferry you're not then doing 1000km to reach the interesting bits...could be on the calendar for next year. Keep these videos coming...they really are good!

Nice video Andrew found it via a link on the Boxertrix forum have booked my ferry for next June 2018 planning on a ride around the Picos before heading off to the Pyrenees then onto the Alps if time allows will check out some of your GPX's many thanks for sharing

@@beardedbaldbikers4634 Congrats on the new bike! I have an s1000r now that I plan on keeping for a while but am being drawn to the multi. There is a leftover '16 at the dealer for a great price next to a 1260 ... any thoughts which you would go for (a new '16 1200S or full price on the 1260S)?

Hmm. Tricky one. There's quite a price difference in favour of the KTM IIRC. For what it's worth, Andy B who had the KTM GT sold it and now has a 1250GS.

In my experience my KTMs (950 Supermoto, 950 Adv) have been more reliable than my GSs (1150, 1200). Ta for the feedback too!

Really enjoyed your videos and thanks for bringing the Picos to my attention. Going to do Switzerland this summer but Picos definitely on the agenda for next year. I mix it up between continental Europe and the USA (specifically western states). A good friend runs a motorcycle touring company out of central Oregon. If you have not been; you really should!
