I remember this show so well! The Norwegian commentator was hyperventilating when Rybak won, telling the whole nation on live television how she had stuffed her bra with paper because she would hopefully meet him. And then there being total chaos at the airport the day after since Rybak told everyone to meet him there.

I get what you mean. Especially considering how one note and repetetive "That's how you write a song" was. I wouldn't have minded Alexander coming back with a new song if he came back with a good song that has progression and build up instead of a continuous relaxed beat that never changes except for a violin solo that lasts for 4 seconds. But, he was still way better than Israel anyway. No idea how they won.

The all-televote results had become so riddled with block voting and neighbor appreciation (especially Eastern Europe) that they had lost their relevance. THAT was politics. Of course they had to balance it out (besides there is not a single competition in any field that does not have judges of some sort). And the Eurovision has never been more popular than it has become in the last decade - after the juries had been brought back. And it's 5 people on a jury, actually.
