pulp have some great music and i like jarvis but he's not a very good singer is he - weak vocals - good song though!

Charlie Brown the original was by an artist called Scott Walker...after hearing it, Jarvis said it quickly became a favourite..

I disagree. I know Jarvis is a big fan and everything, but there must've been a Scott song that was more suited to his voice.

Expecting a faithful, "karaoke " version misses the point. Scott wanted ALL the artists to perform his songs as they saw fit to interpret them. That was the essence of Scott Walker. Scott was there at this BBC PROMS performance and there were no complaints from the great Mr. Engel.
