When our son was at nursery around 2005/2006, it was written in his report that as he was playing, he’d sing the Radio 2 jingle. Number 4 in this list. Brings back good memories.

The ones from 1998 and 2010 are classics. The latest one from 2023 is atrocious and characterless. It's nice to refresh a jingle every so often but it's difficult to imagine what they were thinking with this one.

The "mourning period" idents used in Sept 2022 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3aWhmdvnshris0 ) have the same sonic logo as the new May 2023 idents (see 1:18, in particular the first three notes "BBC" are quick and followed by a short pause, whereas the 2013-2023 ident has those notes slower, followed by quite a long pause, and a different rhythm for the "radio 2" part of the sonic logo - 1:04). So... I wonder what the original 2013 mourning period idents sounded like. Surely the BBC had some made, even though they presumably never got used... right?

Yes, i did hear this one a lot. Why couldn’t they have stuck with 6 instead of making a new one.
