Who is going to enforce international law when both combatants do not want to adhere to it? I do not trust that her comments are factual when they are based on data provided by the Gaza Health Ministry. She is a Human Rights lawyer who has too much invested (both professionally and emotionally) to be a trusted source of impartial information (admittedly this would apply to Israeli lawyers as well). She strikes me as someone who will rationalise away her guilt when the next Jewish pogrom/slaughter takes place. Why doesn't she pressure Hamas to give up return the remaining hostages and start to rebuild their society?

That wasnt an apology nor an actual correction of misinformation. They have merely stated that they cannot verify the footage as there are 'contridictory assessments' as to what club the fans support, without going up to them and asking them personally or something, as usual giving a greater benefit of the doubt to them. They know exactly what they are doing, every word is with intention. They wouldnt be "journalists" if they werent educated enough to know how context and rhetoric works, while many are on salaries higher than the prime minister and they are going to sit there and play dumb. The sad reality is that its top down, they wont punish the lower becuase its coming from the top and if and when it gets around to any form of accountability, the top brass will be retired on fat pensions, changed jobs or even passed from old age, for how long it would take.

I can't remember the issue, but it was around 2015. The comments from citizens in the US were they wished they had the BBCs type of reporting was available in the US. Like so many things, it turns out the UK walks in lock step with the US. In NZ we had Newshub, but that has been dismantled by its new US owners. I don't get my news locally anymore.
