As a charity, we like nothing more than seeing awareness being raised of Lyme disease, and this is a corker of an interview!
It features Lyme disease practitioner, Dr Lambert, as well as patient and campaigner, Morven-May MacCallum.
Both provide their thoughts on how all of us can raise awareness of Lyme disease. Dr Lambert makes the suggestion of an official educational campaign amongst GPs, as well as a campaign to promote signage in outdoors spaces on the dangers of ticks. Morven-May explains how she has been advocating at events across Scotland!
It's also interesting to hear their thoughts on a potential Lyme disease vaccine, which has been publicised widely in the press recently. They both agree that whilst it's positive that we are thinking about a vaccine, it's early days and there could be potential limitations. So in the meantime, we must focus on educational campaigns at all levels.
