So diverse and positive! Living in the U.S., it's wonderful to see people all over the world of every religion and skin color just getting along and actually enjoying each others' company without the political and social barriers we suffer from here.

I agree what was said in the Amsterdam segment. There is so much more to see in The Netherlands than Amsterdam and a lot of places will offer cheaper hotel accommodation, such as Leiden, Delft and even Rotterdam, to name just a few towns and Cities.
@CharlesvanDijk-ir6bl5 жыл бұрын
Even the outer suburbs are a lot cheaper, I booked a 4 star hotel with public transport I am in the city within half an hour. In the city a 2 star hotel would be €500 more for a week. My recommendations, book a hotel near Schiphol (suburbs Sloten or Badhoeven Dorp) or Sloterdijk station. That way you can reach any city in the Netherlands within an hour. Antwerp Belgium is 90 min away. I was born in that city.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Sloterdijk. It is right next to the station and a train will get you to Amsterdam Centraal in less than 10 minutes. Hotel prices in the Centre of Amsterdam from may to September are ridiculous, although I have stayed at the Inntel in Rotterdam a while ago, and got a good deal for 7 nights. An express train from Rotterdam Centraal to Amsterdam takes around 40 minutes and stops at Schipol and then onto Amsterdam Centraal.

I agree, but I can only hope that the masses don't follow your advice. Let them stay in stenchy Amsterdam.
@robertmansfield28564 жыл бұрын
@@patrickfitzgerald2861Most people who visit The Netherlands head straight for Amsterdam and that's where they stay, so I cannot see many of then following my advice.

@@robertmansfield2856 Of course you're right, and I'm glad for that. The places you mentioned are better for it.

My neighbour was in Amsterdam the weekend when the new lockdown measures were brought in, and it spoilt their weekend to be honest.

The crowded boat videos in this broadcast are from Kingsday = a national holiday on which every Dutchman has a day of and thousends go to Amsterdam)... so yeah it is crowded on the water that day. Also the anti tourist protest are videos are from Italy. Is this normal in Brittish journalism?. It reminds of Americans FOX news style information. Just choose an agenda and grab what ever images you kind find to boost your statement, without real journalism. Dear BBC folks this is getting scary.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city but spoiled by too many tourists and too much English language signage everywhere. It's like a Disneyland caricature of itself bending over backwards to please hordes of tourists . The city authorities should realise that people who visit want to see Holland, see and hear Dutch, not pidgin English.
