I would not say it is superior. I think Blackadder is not for everyone even though it is smart and well written. Mr.Bean comedy was for everyone. The fact that people of different cultures and languages could still enjoy Mr.Bean is a true feat in itself. If it can be enjoyed by everyone then the humour is absolutely genius.

This is the comedic genius of Mr.Atkinson.In love with him since i can remember anything. They changed it from season 2 initially Baldrick was brilliant and he was stupid.Glad they changed it. One of the masterpieces of comedy with a stellar ensemble cast.Sadly this will never be recreated.:-(

If I want to watch a decent comedy I go back to the oldies, or even a select few from last decade (e.g Peep Show). Wouldn't touch the tripe they come out with now, especially on the BBC. A couple years ago I attempted to watch a new BBC 'comedy' and threw up. Never tried again since.

This is Absotively my FAVOURITE scene from Blackadder. That Renaissance line is epic! Also because I have always had difficulty with math so I have always had to have had someone sit down and very, very slowly try to explain it. Not only did he ask: "How many are there" at 0:33, he also spoiled the answer the second before the questions. But i guess the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people.
