Reading is the original festival that has evolved from the 1970s, its not some clone brought about in the early 2000s. All the history and famous bands talk about experiences and times at Reading and thats the way it should be... the BBC respect this!

@1zv It's probably because this year's line up was really hipster friendly. Out of the 2 readings i've been to, last year wasn't bad crowd wise, that's mainly because there more rock bands than indie bands. This year it seemed to be the opposite.

@gseofficial To be fair, it's the same line up at both sites and it would cost twice as much to set up a film crew in leeds. Reading is the older festival, and the closer one to london so you have to understand why they choose Reading. Furthermore, if they filmed both there would be so many people complaining about BBC wasting their money.

@1zv you cant generalise. yeah there are a lot of indie bands, it doesnt mean those bands are shit, and it doesnt mean there arent actually some great rock bands there too! there are many of those types of people but there are also loads of people who are there to enjoy the music. and fyi noah and the whale are very talented

@1zv well, it was my first time at reading this year (im 16)....i think ill be going again since its a lot of my favourite bands all in one place, and whilst these people also piss me off im just there to enjoy the music and have fun to be honest; but yeah it is disappointing to be listening to your favourite band and to be the only one singing along (like it was at yuck's set) and sometimes the crowd is what makes it. thats festivals for you. most people go to get pissed, not for the music.

@musicislove25 ikr, but compare reading to other festivals nowadays. the crowd is dire. it used to be sooo good. reading 2008 was insane and look at it, only 3 years later, invaded by teens who listen to shit and smoke weed cos they think they're cool. its such a shame. watch deftones at reading, the crowds disdain makes me want to cry.theres girls in the front row with their face painted texting. its bloody rude,and if i was there i would have got them to move so i could be there and dance.
