As a writer myself I can surely say: we're not willing to let the characters we write get off that easy. They must suffer for the audience's amusement, and our own! Maestro can break the fourth wall, so they know this.

I think they picked one of the best people to play the roll of Maestro. This performance was spectacular and I hope they appear at least one more time this season and aren't forgotten about to the show like the Toymaker was for so long (yes, I know the Toymaker was in multiple comics, casual watchers probably wouldn't know this). The episode before this one was kind of iffy with the writing, but I'll be willing to stick through. The useage of the callback to the Giggle was spectacular, absolutely used to strike fear in the hearts of the Doctor. I didn’t watch Jodie's season, I'm hoping that this one will keep my attention.

I understand the writing isn't for everyone but I would recommend giving Series 13 a try. If you like campy god-like characters that just freak the Doctor out, that season has some good scenes. It's a pretty short season so no harm in giving it a try.

@@aligmal5031 Statistically, the show has generally maintained the same viewership rankings (i.e. amount of viewers compared to other shows during the week) from Series 1 all the way to Series 13. If you actually pay attention to viewership numbers, you would know that viewership in general has fallen as streaming services have become more prominent. The viewership has fallen drastically with this new season, but that's almost certainly because they launch the episodes on Iplayer the night before they air on BBC One, so fans of the show aren't watching live anymore. If you look at the viewers from episode 1 and compare them to episode 2, you'd even notice a pretty impressive viewer retention. It's as simple as that. It's not some woke conspiracy or whatever you think it is.

They told people not to watch it, and people complied. "Inclusion" is detrimental to the majority.
