BBC2 Late Show on ITV franchises 25th November 1993

Thames Television should have kept their franchise. I can imagine what a better network ITV would have been from 1993 onward if Thames was firmly in place, with the grubby little money men at Carlton never got their hands on an ITV franchise.

The problem is, Thames had owners that were disinterested in ITV. They had tried to sell to Carlton in the 80s but it was blocked by the IBA. So they would have likely sold to them in the 90s anyway.

Not only in 1993 but later in 2002 I guess when they became the one itv company as such too.

Carlton was terrible really but so too were the other then new itv ones compared to the old ones before it.
