Ayrton was so much more than a racing driver. Such a great human. His institute here in Brazil continues to help children and bring Ayrton's incredible story to people today. Several idols here, football players, get involved in fights, betrayals, wrong posts, racism, sexism, and are idolized anyway. Ayrton was different. Ayrton brought pride to Brazil. He had humility, charisma, he was a cultured, respectful, kind person. A person who took his work very seriously. A real man.Sunday mornings were happy for the workers who watched Ayrton shining on TV.

So hard to watch this knowing that 9 years later the legend Ayrton Senna Da Silva would be taken away from us in such tragic circumstances. He was a hero to me from his driving ability to what this videos shows - charisma in abundance, calmness, softly and well spoken; a true legend. I named my first son Ayrton after the great man and always talk and show videos of him to my two boys hoping they (especially my eldest) understand how great and important he is to the world.

I consider Hamilton a great driver, the best of his generation, but I don't think he's at the level of Fangio, Senna, Schumacher, Prost or Clark. @@fiarandompenaltygeneratorm5044 I agree with you, and the words 'biased' and 'documentary' should never come together in review because a pure documentary includes all of the context and is indisputably factual. Sadly such documentaries are as rare as hens teeth these days regardless of the topic. Confirmation bias sells. @@jasonmcmillan4373 I'm a huge Senna fan, but I'm also a huge Prost fan, and a disservice was done to him with this movie. This movie is honestly a preview of what DTS has become...So many important things were left out that it is 50/50 fact and fiction. Anyone knowing the true events of 1988-1990 will immediately recognize what has been left out in order to make Senna look better. The movie's well made and brought Senna's legacy to more people, especially here in the States, so it's not all bad. I just think one of the things that makes Senna so fascinating are his tragic flaws. You can still admire the man while acknowledging his faults. He was a great driver and a great man, but still made some spectacular missteps. Portraying him like a flawless saint is a bit strange.

I wanted lotus to win. They were still the second most successful constructor on the grid at their last ever grand prix in 1994. Its a shame they never found someone to fully replace Chapman, he could win people over and use this to help raise money and get the best stuff for the team. McLaren had Ron Dennis, Williams had Frank Williams, but Lotus never really found a true businessman to get the money, Peter Warr could run the race team, but not the rest of it to the same standard as Ron Dennis for example who was excelent at finding money and suppliers etc. Lotus was heavily reliant on its history, hence its rapid demise after results dried up. Where as Williams have had 2 winless runs both longer than that of lotus and though struggling still continue thanks to better financial management.

Are you sure its not about wanting your country to win? What people dont know is that Senna had a pre-contract with Lotus for 1984 since 1983 but they choose Mansel when they were already going to announce Senna in a couple weeks, the reason? Because the sponsor was british and they also wanted a british driver. Senna was so mad and hurt by that but since that day he "learned" how F1 works and for this reason he disallow Warwick from joining Lotus team years later, he thought: "british guy, british team, they're giving him so many compliments, well I've had enough of that".

Haven't seen enough of him, the one and only, for how prior this is to his destiny.

If Ayrton had worked with Colin Chapman they would have done very very well.

@@solsol1624 well Ayrton gave. Great detail and Colin could have turned that into good lap time

@@chrisfleming5109 yes, Ron Denis said the same, and it was more important back then, data logging not being what is was even 5 years later. You seem a big Senna fan like me, have you heard the story told by Pat Simmons from Toleman when Senna clipped a wall and said it had moved? One of the US rounds iirc

@@solsol1624 I think senna is the greatest F1 driver but the absolute best of all was Jim Clark. So senna the greatest but Clark the best and if both were in same car on same track same day Clark would win all my money on Clark.

Second season and already as composed and well spoken as the vet he'd become. Who'd have known when this aired what amazing and tragic things were to come and the impact he'd have on the sport and world for the rest of time.
