Hamsters are my favourite pets. I own a syrian hamster lady called Elif. But let me say that the cage is way too small. It should be at least 100cm × 50cm because Hamsters tend to run a lot in the wild. And those balls arent good for hamsters. Free roaming is better. They don't have a good vision and inside the ball see even less and can't smell at all. Also they might get hurt and run into something etc. But Hamsters are the funniest pets ever. Everyone should get one
@333pinkelephant3334 жыл бұрын
Not to mention their little tiny feet getting caught in the holes :( I was a dumb stupid ignorant owner at the time and actually thought these balls were good for them. I used to let my poor hamster roam all over the house in the hamster ball until one day, I found the ball stained in tiny bloody pawprints. climbing and bar chewing are signs of stress anyone that has a hamster make sure they are in a cage that is over 450 sq inches of unbroken floor space with a section of 6 or more inches of paper-based bedding. Bin cages are 10-20$ and can be diy. balls are also unsafe as they can get their toes or nails caught in the holes and amputate them.
@iamanidiot72224 жыл бұрын
Hamsters are living animals, if the actual requirements needed for hamstercare scare you dont get one. Its not even expensive, you can place them in a makeshift bin cage and have the required space. The problem is that most people don't know what hamsters actually need due to much misinformation.

This is cute but don't do it at home. Your hamster can get seriously injured from a fall. They can only see a few inches in front of their nose and are essentially blind, meaning they will walk off high surfaces without realizing. Cage is too small & balls are not the safest thing to use, as demonstrated by the stair scene... Where he could've easily been in that ball and died.

i understand that people can hate on people who criticize videos like these, but tbh idk anymore. hamsters deserve way larger cages, and they monkey bar because of stress and boredom. this could lead to stuck limbs and cause bumble foot, or even worse. please never keep your hamsters in cages like these. personally, i identify large diy cages like the ikea detolf, and more as enclosures and these as cages, because there is a difference between the two.

Naturally B-K I am an animal lover and to an extent I agree with you but many of the animals we keep as pets have been domesticated for such a long time they would most likely not be able to survive out with the home setting. My hamster is in a large enclosure and I research his care all the time, he has soil in his enclosure as well as a large sand bath soft paper bedding and a large wooden wheel. This video quite simply promotes poor animal husbandry.

( Not hating just giving advise) When hamsters "monkey bar" it means that they are bored and if your hamster had fell, it could of gotten hurt badly. Also You hamsters fur was sticking up which also means it is stressed. Then when the ball (without the hamster in it) bounced down the stairs gives you a good example of how the hamster ball is unsafe I would not recommend using it, instead you can do thinks like free roaming. Please get a bigger cage (I would recommend a bin cage they are cheap) and leave you hamster alone for a couple of days that way it can calm down from all of the stress.

Given these creatures are masters of escapology I'm almost disappointed the door latch was left open so he only needed to nudge it to get out. When you've had a few of these bad boys and spent a night or two searching for an escapee you realise the extent of their skill it's amazing. My daughter's hamster lived in a massive cage with more stuff to keep him amused than a rich kid's doll's house. She made him loads of DIY toys, treat puzzle challengers, one way system that meant he had to burrow his way through 2ft of shavings in the base to find a hidden blueberry and when he'd had a short blast doing all that and run off some steam in the wheel, his next favourite thing was to climb, swing / hang and gnaw at the latches until he was victorious. Also, I've yet to own a hamster that didn't need the exercise ball doorway taping cos they soon suss that out too. I have always let ours pretty much free roam (supervised) but they still want to climb. Frisbee would head for the stairs and make his way up like a dude scaling K2.
