Field Marshal Cariappa, भारत के वो सैन्य अफ़सर, जिन्हें पाकिस्तानी भी सलाम करते थे (BBC HINDI)

भारतीय सेना को नेतृत्व प्रदान करने की बात आती है तो कोडांदेरा मदप्पा करियप्पा का नाम सबसे पहले लिया जाता है. वो भारतीय सेना के पहले कमांडर इन चीफ़ थे. उनको 'किपर' के नाम से भी पुकारा जाता है. कहा जाता है कि जब वो फ़तेहगढ़ में तैनात थे तो एक ब्रिटिश अफ़सर की पत्नी को उनका नाम लेने में बहुत दिक्कत होती थी. इसलिए उन्होंने उन्हें 'किपर' पुकारना शुरू कर दिया. 1942 में करियप्पा लेफ़्टिनेंट कर्नल का पद पाने वाले पहले भारतीय अफ़सर बने. 1944 में उन्हें ब्रिगेडियर बनाया गया और बन्नू फ़्रंटियर ब्रिगेड को कमांडर के तौर पर तैनात किया गया. फ़ील्डमार्शल करियप्पा की जीवनी लिखने वाले मेजर जनरल वी के सिंह बताते हैं, "उन दिनों एक गाँव से गुज़रते हुए करियप्पा ने देखा कि कुछ पठान औरतें अपने सिर पर पानी से भरे बड़े बड़े बर्तन ले कर जा रही हैं." "पूछताछ के बाद पता चला कि उन्हें रोज़ चार मील दूर दूसरे गाँव से पानी लेने जाना पड़ता है. करियप्पा ने तुरंत उनके गाँव में कुँआ खुदवाने का आदेश दिया. पठान उनके इस काम से इतना खुश हुए कि उन्होंने उन्हें 'ख़लीफ़ा' कहना शुरू कर दिया." रेहान फ़ज़ल की विवेचना.

Udugani is the Birth Place of Akka Mahadevi (800 years ago) & she galvanized Lingayatism along with Basavanna- Cariappa’s living sister she is living in Uduguni to protect “Akka Mahadevi’s place & has donated the place “under the auspices of “Bijapur Women’s College” so as to continue “The Well Wishes of Akka Mahadevi’s -800 years ago”. I am blessed having had met Cariappa’s Blood Borne Living Sister- who adopted me as her son - on the spot (emotionally felt dedicated like expressed) - I have the videotape of her heartfelt expressed feelings. I sincerely felt being blessed with such of her’s feelings and I simply Bow down to her and Cariappa’s family as they adopted me as their blood related like feelings. Jai Hind. I was born just 4 KM from Uduguni, Shimoga District, Karnataka, India. I live in USA.

Who are Kodava ? I think they live presently in and around Coorg Karnataka. They are fair skinned compared to other people of Karnataka. They cook delicious non vegetarian food also.

may be that's his bad side,but u should not forget that ladakh(kargil,leh) is with india because of his big decision,he kept this secret not telling British officers about it and launched tank into zoji la pass,he was not a british pupet,if he was ,then result would have been different and territory of ladakh may have gone to pakistan like gilgit and baltistan ,

One of the legendary Generals who played an important role in shaping our armed forces. It was their foresightedness in deciding to shield the army from politics. It has been one the most important reasons that except for emergency imposed by Mrs Gandhi, India has remained a democratic country. Imagine the situation what would have happened with a politically and religiously influenced army when we have so many religions, castes, languages, cultures and food habits. Hate to say this and is none of my business, but this is exactly what happened in Pakistan.
