Não, BBC. É a pior enchente da história. Nos anos 40, quando houve uma enchente parecida, muitas das áreas atingidas não eram povoadas. Os estrangeiros não conhecem a dimensão do Brasil. Nós temos mais cidades com mais de 1 milhão de habitantes que os Estados Unidos, por exemplo. A lot of people are doing their best to help people from the South of Brazil. Ordinary people, churches, TV channels are collecting food, clothes, blankets, and all kinds of cleaning products to send to these affected people. Several professionals, such as, vets, doctors, fire fighters are also contributing to lessen those people's suffering. Let's all pray for them! Regrettably, many families have suffered losses of loved ones, pets, homes, shops, factories, farms, crops, and more. Entire small cities with populations of 20,000 to 30,000 residents have been entirely wiped out. These communities were ill-prepared for this massive disaster, receiving evacuation warnings too late. We have an ineffective government that heavily focuses on collecting taxes for personal gain. In times of crisis, their response and actions are delayed, fortunately there are proactive individuals who successfully rescue and provide refuge for those in need.

Unfortunately the politicians were very much aware of the geography of the State but have never done anything to protect the population and that is not for lack of funds! It is an occurrence annually and since 2012 with many political promises and so far nothing. The population is to be blamed for giving their votes to the opportunistic politician. Very sorry for the suffering and loss of lives
