I’m starving, Darling Let me put my lips to something Let me wrap my teeth around the world Start carving, Darling I want to smell the dinner cooking I want to feel the edges start to burn Honey, I Want to race you to the table If you hesitate The getting is gone I won’t lie If there’s something to be gained There’s money to be made Whatever's still to come Get some Pull up the ladder when the flood comes Throw enough rope until the legs have swung Seven new ways that you can eat your young Come and get some Skinning the children for a war-drum Putting food on the table selling bombs and guns; It's quicker and easier to eat your young You can’t buy this fineness Let me see the heat get to it Let me watch the dressing start to peel It’s a kindness, Highness Crumbs enough for everyone Old and young are welcome to the meal Honey, I'm Making sure the table’s made We can celebrate The good that we’ve done I won’t lie If there’s something still to take There is ground to break Whatever's still to come Get some Pull up the ladder when the flood comes Throw enough rope until the legs have swung Seven new ways that you can eat your young Come and get some Skinning the children for a war-drum Putting food on the table selling bombs and guns; It's quicker and easier to eat your young

What the heck is he saying into that mic at the beginning? And what type of mic is that?
@tedigrizli Жыл бұрын
He's basically outlining vowels from the chorus lyrics, it's like mumbling the main words, but even more deconstructed. Works best for a vocal melody sample.

I have a pendant, one of only two in existence, with shema Israel on it in Hebrew on one side and English on the other. It's from my father, he was gifted it while serving in Zahal. My mother, who was still in highschool at the time, was given the only other one in existence. They met the following year and I inherited my father's while my mother still wears hers.

*To think a decent voice of a TV talent show like Niall Horan (best of luck to him) who can't compose a note or a lyric is so much more successful commercially than an intrinsically gifted artist like Hozier is a sad indictment of the music industry today*
@classactsexpertiseandinspi4815 Жыл бұрын
Actually Niall wrote some of the One Direction songs and most/all of the songs on his solo albums. You dont have to Diss Niall to appreciate Hozier - there is plenty of room for all the excellent Irish artistes out there.

As a Dubliner, I’m sad to say😢this just doesn’t do it for me. I was watching Jools Holland, and this lad was on it, I’d never heard of him😮before tonight. But sadly, it didn’t work for me. I’m 66 maybe that has something to do with it😢

Music is subjective. No need to tell everyone you are from Dublin. Hozier doesn't need to satisfy all ears in the pale

Maybe check out some of his other music? His style is very varied, and there's likely something for everyone, but of course don't feel pressured

Hozier is a modern day poet, his words put to music. I find it brings such a comfort to me. He’s a deep thinker, love his play on words/lyrics, very thought provoking. Perhaps I’m slightly bias being Irish (living in Seattle) but honestly I just love this guy with everything he writes and sings. Been to his concert in 2019 and tickets booked to see him October 2023. Can’t wait. Love you Hozier❤

Check out some of his other live stuff - personally I wouldn't pick this performance if i was looking for something that accurately showcases how incredible his voice is, nor what a class lyricist he is.. there is plenty out there if you feel like having more of a look 😊
