no, smoking destroyed her voice. Barbra Streisand at 81 sounds amazing for her age, for example, and I'm not much of a fan. I've enjoyed all of Lisa Stransfeld's past cd.

I’m a longtime Lisa Stansfield fan. I know there is some contention with regards to how her voice has matured (and how she has or hasn’t preserved it appropriately) - but quite honestly, the slightly gravelly quality to her voice now gives it an earthiness and wisdom that wasn’t there before. It’s kind of like listening to Joni Mitchell now. I don’t think we should dismiss artists for living life and maturing. That was a beautiful performance and kudos to all the musicians, it was sublime. I wish there was more soul and R&B music on the radio.

Smiley, what year? I saw her in 93 in a small theatre in SF. I'm surprised she played there becuz she was already so big. I was lucky. I took my now deceased sister. I payed extra to get a second row table...crying crying here.😢

Nope, as we say in Blk American English, Lisa is Baaaaddd! ( meaning good!) Her voice is amazing? Ive never heard her not sounding well. I know she layed low for a min, but her vocals never been in question. Good to see her again.
