I wouldn't say its amazing he is still alive, I love Stephen really do, and he himself has said if he didnt have the financial means to go to Belgium that time he would of killed himself. he is more fortunate than others who have the disorder coupled with poverty and lack of education

Layla shin your very rude for that comment. Go educate yourself on mental health illness you are wrong for that . It's not a joke If you knew someone who had this illness you wouldn't make fun. Kerry katona has bipolar so does Chris Brown. It makes you act or do things you know what your not supposed to be doing .

@@ChrisMcloviification Money and education have nothing to do with Bipolar Affective Disorder. You seem not to understand at all. Bipolar people commit suicide each day. The sudden, reckless mood changes can bring about an impulsive self-destruction. Education does not bring about any difference. Bipolar Disorder is a serious mental problem that is about a sad lack of self-control. Money, education make no difference. He is not fortunate. Impoverished Bipolar people do not commit suicide at a greater rate than others.

Got diagnosed bipolar 3 days ago, always thought I was anxious or depressed but then I’d go out and talk to everyone and be the classic “life of the party” guy. Either total confidence or none. At uni I’d get 95% in an assignment or coursework and then I wouldn’t turn up the next week and I just didn’t know why. I thought I would have to live the rest of my life in minimum wage employment because I was all over the place. I’d feel so low for such a long time and then as soon as I felt good I didn’t want it to stop so I’d miss uni and go out all the time but now I understand a little bit better what’s going on I can start to turn my life around

Respect for the work Deacon! Keep you're head up, I'm going through the same thing and now I'm trying to stay as active as I can communicate as much as I can just trying to maintain it and I already tried to end it all but still I'm still breathing. Really appreciate you trying to make other people aware of this problem cuz if I had the opportunity I would as well. Keep on grinding Deacon hope nothing but the best for you my brother

I was diagnosed with bipolar (undefined) two years ago. For me mania is presented as extreme irritability, everything bothers me, and I feel like I start spending money, racing thoughts, paranoia, etc.

I absolutely hate everything and everyone at times. Why am I here watching this? My mother was bipolar. 20yrs on lithium. Then died due to an undiagnosed burst stomach ulcer. Only 3 years ago. I’ve had a lot of trauma in my life. My family are all gone. Recently I got promoted, I went from being on the tools to more office oriented. The office can be overwhelming, I like to focus and not stop, I cannot concentrate with many voices in one space. I get terrible social anxiety in busy areas. Other times I’m chilled. Life’s easy. Then I’m on the sofa cant move. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything but depression and anxiety, I got over this with exercise, 24 years I’ve battled mental illness. I dunno, I feel like I’m peaking…, this time of year makes it worse.

I tell you the truth, many teenagers who are bipolar and don't know it, come age 17 will suddenly start having suicidal thoughts, be in a desperate hurry to die... feel self hate, no value and worthless, even thou there is no reason for them to feel this way at all and everything in there life is pretty ok and great... what is causing this is the actual bipolar disorder, taking control of the steering wheel of the mind and the young person having no clue to what the hell is happening with them. I know this because at age 16 and younger i was perfectly happy and full of energy ( But in constant High Mania, Bipolar Hyper ),,, but when i turned 17..... depression hit me like a FIST IN MY JAW and it just got rougher by the day. I tell you the truth, it was only till around age 39 did I finally realise what was going on when ADAM ANT started speaking up about this sickness Bipolar that I started to understand i was sick, and it was not me that was depressed or suicidal, it was the Bipolar disorder disease telling me i was, when in fact i was not. So now I know who and what my enemy is, i now can fight back.... When the illness tells me negative crap, I know its Bipolar putting its fist in my skull and ignore it...

I was diagnosed at 13 and even with the diagnosis and not harming anyone, just being difficult I suppose, I spent a good amt of time in ydc (kid prison). In a cell with no window, no books, nothing. I'm 30 now and thinking about all the kids in cells right now bc of mental illness. It breaks my heart and we have to do something about it.

I think Adam Deacon has done really well in life and his career despite his condition, Stephen Fry’s a super genius who can define bipolar to a very drastic degree and even the illness drove him to do all sorts of things. Adam hasn’t had a great start in life but seems to be quite a positive guy. I wish him well.

Its great people like yourself and Stephen Fry are bringing awareness to the subject of mental illness. More awareness in Schools is needed. Young people need to understand more about it, and that it's OK and there not alone. School is about education, and being educated on this subject will break down stigma. Have people that have bipolar,BDP, Schizophrenia, talk about there illnesses. So the label of crazy is taken away, and replaced by the truth.

The loneliness I've been experiencing for years is of a different kind and nature. I suffer from both bipolar disorder and dysthymia. I have no support, and most people don't believe me. Unfortunately, I also live in a third-world country. If my relatives knows about my illness, they label me as "overly sensitive" and think I'm exaggerating or that I chose to be this way. When I'm not manic, I'm constantly depressed. No matter how hard I try to get better, my environment doesn't normalize. I'm surrounded by healthy, normal people. I envy them, so much. Seeing them makes me feel lonely and how far I am from the most ordinary things and how tired I am of fighting. I hope future generations don't have to face such hard challenges as we have. I hope they have a safe haven to turn to. I hope they don't feel as lonely as we do. I hope people like me are careful about continuing our lineage and don't make decisions emotionally. After all, suffering begets suffering.

so whats the difference between a maniac depressive and biploar then? they sound the same. I think i am one though i gets depressed and stay depressed and then very now and gain ail go crazy and be full of beans and try fix everything and do everything. Until some little road block occurs or someone says the wrong thing. Its like all fo a sudden day has turned night and 600 pound weight has been dropped on me and ill wanna do is go in my room and hide again :S. been like this for 15 years. The only time anything ever gets done in my life is during those energetic periods. lately been self medicating with street drugs .
