720p video quality? Really? Are we living in the late 90s?

I'd like to see a FULL SCREEN red bar, because, that's what's really important here.

That banner is as big as the bath. Seems you guys like big awkwardly placed banners at BBC. Here we go again.

With the great big ass red bar there I feel like I've stepped into a crime scene .

It always amazes me how much assumptions people that ‘discover’ new things make about what they find

First time I saw pipes used by an ancient city. I thought I only saw them use those bulky stacked clay tubes but this one is as small as modern day pipes, which is really impressive.

I too noticed the small diameter and it makes me wonder what material they are made from
@emilialyons618611 күн бұрын
@seajelly2421 most likely lead
@Gealaiche11 күн бұрын
@seajelly2421 they’re made from lead in fact the word Plumbing comes from the Latin plumbum meaning lead. The really weird part about this is the Romans actually knew that was toxic but use it anyway because it’s just so damn convenient

Lead pipes were in use till even abt 7-8 decades back . Ggl search .. "In the 1930s copper pipes or galvanized steel pipes began to replace most of the lead pipes in residential plumbing. Solder, a material that's used to join together metals like copper pipe, still contained lead until it was banned for plumbing applications in the 1980s"

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't realized that lead pipes had such a long history - learned something new.

The lighting is terrible you can see next to nothing, the only thing that stands out is the scaffolding .

Technically it's a once-in-1,946-year discovery now isn't it 😅

For future reference, if you’re showing us something truly amazing like this, get the giant red pop-up bar out of the freaking screen so that we can actually see it. #Failure

you made a mistake BBC, I could still see some of the video behind the red banner

Wanted to see a ‘once-in-a-century’ discovery. It was just a Roman bath tub.
@IIChristisKingII11 күн бұрын
Might be more exciting when the next one is discovered in the next century.

What makes it remarkable is that it is a rare survival of a private bath, meaning the owner of the property was considerably wealthy.

That lower third copy should instead read "Private bathhouse covered in Pompeii" (BY BBC LOGO AND RED BAR)

Red bar just aint big enough to cover all of pompeis footage.

I think this veeeery wide red line in the video looks beautiful! Why not make it five times bigger?
