Everyone gets a bit chuffed when their favourite song gets changed. Particularly when the original genre and the genre of the cover are on two seperate planets stylistically. It's like taking Eric Clapton's iconic 'Layla' and covering it in a punk rock style. People would absolutely riot at the bastardisation. Covering a song in a completely different genre alienates the people who originally found the song interesting, that's why everyone is kicking up a fuss.

I'm from the same city as her. Kiwi artists are nothing like American or European "Pop Stars". Music is apart of the culture and we embrace it with one another. We don't put people down for being themselves. We encourage uniqueness and that's what our music industry is like. We don't need to listen to the same thing everyday.
