My favourite part of this is when Gareth asks him what an elf is. He looks around in astonishment towards the camera crew, as if he's thinking 'are you actually being serious?' The camera then focuses on Gareth and David, both completely stone-faced, whilst finally focusing back to the bloke, who now realises they're both being serious and reluctantly answers the ridiculous question.

At 1:33 the way Gareth lifts his head gradually is hilarious because it's like he's waiting in anticipation for the answer and the lift of the head is a sign to the guy to do it. Brilliant.

Its amazing how they all turn against him like its the Spanish Inquisition. Gareth suddenly takes the position of the judge, like this is the main reason he came to David's office! Brilliant in so many ways, script, acting, camera work how they are ideally cast. One of the best comedy scenes ever.

Jeff was hired by David in the first episode so as not to worry the staff over their impending redundancies. He thought it a good way to stop the rumours. He hired another office assistant in the same episode, for the same reason. Then he had to make Jeff and others redundant at the end of the series.

the best part of this scene is when brent says 'bloody hormones'. it reveals his character. the sentence is meaningless, but it shows his desire to make people think he cares. at the same time, it is really a signal from him that that subject is finished and we should move on to something that will feed his ego. this is typical narcissist behaviour.
