Article 370 gave India only a limited say in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir , including Ladakh , which suited both China and Pakistan .China was always a player in the so called Kashmir dispute overtly only between India and Pakistan. State Govt of Jammu and Kashmir , including Ladakh , was sympathetic to Pakistan ‘s and ultimately to China ‘s interests , especially , in Ladakh. Example Late Sheikh Abdullah refused to allow His Holiness The Dalai Lama and his followers to settle in Ladakh when they took refuge in India . Ladakh was most suitable for Tibetans both from climate and cultural points of views. But Sheikh Abdullah facilitated the settlement of Uyghur Muslims in the Kashmir valley. India ‘s direct control over both Kashmir and Ladakh has put an end to the China

The power to decide whether to remain independent / choose between India and Pakistan was under the British Parliament's Lapse of Paramountcy Act was given to the Ruler and not to the public. Pakistan should have challenged this Act in the House of Lords - i.e, England's Supreme Court .Pakistan does not have any claim , legal or moral , or even an inch sq of the erstwhile Riyasat of Kashmir. In 1963, Pakistan sold to China , 5200 sq km of Shaksgam valley in POK. Now , again , Pakistan wants to sell parts of POK to China , to settle its debts to China .

That's a biased opinion. Why does India talks about its occupation by Britishers all the time but you have a problem if Kashmiris talk about their occupation by dogras. It's even worse because the British occupation ended but the Dogra occupation didn't, they passed on kashmir to India without people's opinion just like the British had passed them down to Dogras.
