@user-vq2js3en2t I don't know if anyone can help normal Japanese people, but I know that the influence of those perverts has spread to China, and many Chinese people are proud of it
I'm Japanese living in Canada and there was no way I could've watched if this page hadn't shown this, so thanks for showing this here and BBC, you did an incredibly huge and awesome job, as well as broadcasting Shiori Ito's Black Box as well!!! Go BBC GO!!!

Thank you for reporting this. It's sad to hear what the victims experienced. Hope the Japanese society can pay attention to this and realize how seriously the misconducts cause harm to children.
Thank you Mobeen for showing what actually happened and trying to unfold the truth. I can feel the frustration you had when most of the interviewees did not show any anger towards Johnny. As others said, this is a great documentary, thank you.
The parts where the survivors talked about the sexual abuse that Johnny Kitawa had inflicted upon them were really difficult to watch. I felt a heavy weight in my heart. The fact that some survivors didn't recognize the abuse as such is evidence of how successful Johnny's grooming was.

Japanese are not educated at all about what "grooming" is, where Johnny Kitagawa took full advantage of Japanese society's total ignorance. Almost all Japanese are brain washed by this corruption and still blind to what justice or true love is. The western world is really different as it has a long long history of Judaism-Christianity, which has cultivated far more serious engagements in thoughts and cultures. Japan has not had anything so profound, but all sentimental at best.

If a person rapes another, they go to jail-they do not pay a fine. Corporations should not be fined, they should be jailed (business suspended for the same time as a person would be in prison for). If a person gets the death penalty for a crime, the corporation should get the corporate death penalty-dissolution.

Every boy and man come out to share is brave. They have suffered so much and so long. Even society may not accept this kind of courage and truth, their showing up is light. The pressure under camera and their trauma is real. It is not an easy job. Thank you for the light.

Mad respect for the investigative journalist!!! It blows my mind how the whole Japanese society ignores the sexual abuse allegations. It’s so wrong.

Is brainwashing. People (mainly women) in Japan LOVE those no gifted boys, the idea that he done that is like a rumor with no material evidence.

Twice the population of the UK and 1/2 the therapists and a culture that doesn’t really believe that men can be raped - says it all really? It wasn’t that long ago I worked for a branch of the armed forces, rape was something I dealt with on a weekly basis but no provision for male victims, who felt as violated as female victims- couldn’t report it for fear of being harassed further, cancelled from their jobs careers and life aspirations! It actually pisses me off that he needed to go all the way to Japan to expose abuse when so much still exists in U.K. establishments in plain sight- not justice for the victims in the streets, does abuse only matter when you’re famous , got me thinking it must be ? 25 years working with abuse and not one victim got justice not one!
Thank you so much for reporting these crimes. I feel so sad and sorry for those victims. I am shocked and extremely angry with the severe crimes and all the people' silence and selfishness. The whole Japnese society is so sick that people can keep ignoring and covering these crimes for decades!🤬🤬
@@徐雪娟-m3h Japan is such a country, with cruelty and cold blood under the elegant surface. Unlike the Germans who would kneel and apologize for the harm caused to the Jews, they would not repent or reflect on the crimes committed by the Japanese government during World War II. Instead they would laugh at someone who was weaker than him. So this issue of sexual abuse is not worth mentioning to them, to society as a whole, they don't have sympathy for the victims, they try to cover up the truth as much as possible. until posterity forgot him. What's more, Japan eats cuttlefish raw and eats sushi on cleaned women's bodies~ Japanese culture has already explained everything. Don't be fooled by their superficial "neatness and cleanliness". In which developed country would pedophilia be prevalent? Japan is a horrible and dirty hypocritical country
Thanks for doing this documentary. Although I already know there is something wrong about sex and sexual abuse in Japanese culture but when I watched this documentary, I was still shocked and heartbroken. This is not just a crime of one man or one company, this is done by the ignorance of the whole society. It is so sad.

It's not japan culture. It's this company. Johnny's. who has been monopolizing the idol industry. they blacklist male idols in japan too. They are not powerful like before. but many people were enablers and let it happen. All of this went on and nothing was done

Can’t seem to find the full documentary in any of BBC’s English-speaking channels to comment on, not sure if it’s because of my IP location but anyway I hope the production team reads these comments - thank you for this tremendous piece of journalism and for doing something no one in history ever did or dared to do, putting together such a comprehensive report that uncovers the fact that the second largest entertainment industry in the world is built firmly upon child molestation and abuse and such ridiculousness is overlooked and even sympathised by the entire society. So much respect for the entire crew and especially for Mobeen, thank you also for expressing righteous anger towards the involved parties, at some points I thought I was losing my mind because it seems like you’re showing a parallel universe where child sexual abuse is a normal and this just goes against everything I’ve ever known. I can only imagine the difficulty and emotional frustration you experienced when combing through the story and talking to all these people. If I feel disturbed only by watching, the crew probably feels ten times more disturbed. So thank you for doing such important work and you deserve peace after this. Lastly just a piece of feedback - I agree with some commentators that if this story can be explored a bit more deeply from the cultural perspective - the documentary briefly touched upon that but people unfamiliar with the Japanese or Asian cultures in general would probably not be able to understand intuitively how the culture is a big factor enabling all these to happen, specifically the idea to ‘not cause scandal’ as is already discussed in the story as well as the extent to it, and the idea that success and riches is more important than anything, even self respect and safety, and that’s how parents are willing to even personally groom their children to gain favour from the abuser. But all in all this is in itself a great piece so thank you again for the hard work.
