As an atheist, I think some people underestimate the free musical training you get from church, in addition to singing with a certain tone. I learned how to read music from trained professionals for free growing up in church. Not to mention you have to learn about stage presence. Not saying it’s the only way, but where else can you get that type of training at little to no cost

Bondy, Jermaine used the wrong words but he was speaking about the training that we got in church in the music departments. All the soulful singers and musicians from the 90s and back came straight out of the church. Also 90s RnB is nothing but the group Commissioned in secular form. Every group Intro, H-Town, Boys II Men and others were literally singing like them because they were church kids. Jodeci aren’t just church kids, but they’re PKs and former gospel quartets singers and musicians. In church you absolutely had to have your stuff together or you’d get embarrassed or sat down. So it forced you to get it right because you aren’t doing for you anyway, you’re doing it for God and He gets the best.

@@mikomai3754 I agree, I grew up Catholic, no music there🥱but I was lucky, my school had a great music program & Los Angeles had a band on every block unlike today. There's not even a chitlin circuit. I think J.D. is on to something, ego aside.

Bondy I love you Boo but I think you missed the point of Jermaine's comment. The artist development from the Church made the music higher quality once those same artists came into the music industry. The new artists today just think they can post anything online and get views. There is a big difference in what passes for talent. P. S- I am not in the church. I think artist development can also come from school choirs or from voice coaches. I get the point.

I know a couple "homeless" females one get over $1,000 a month she's retired solider on disability and other makes couple grand a month scams and stealing. (Was a RN early part of life) Both come from upper middle class families. Neither want to be productive members of society. Both became drug addicts. Being homeless has perks to some people. A lot of homeless people are not helpless or miserable. They are a custom to the life style.

I wish these people would stop involving the Lord in their foolishness. He doesn’t have anything to do with poor decision making, lying and messing over people. He does NOT approve and they’ll find out soon enough because He does not like to be mocked and most certainly doesn’t like being misrepresented; which causes people to not come in or be outright misled. It irks me to no end, to hear someone hide behind God so they don’t have to be held accountable for their actions. Newsflash!! Accountability, consequences and correction is all written in the Scriptures too!!

Anything outside of praise music is called secular music. Everything evolves, even if it’s slowly and that’s how Kirk Franklin was able to start bringing secular music with worship lyrics into the church… slowly and then it became accepted.

I've said it before and will again, we need to stop normalizing parental abuse. If it were her partner, we would say to get away. The same should be applied for parents. If you have an abusive parent, stop following that "honor thy mother and father" stuff. Stop going for that, you only have one mother and father, therefore accept the abuses. It's sad because even if she went no contact, that wouldn't stop any hurt from him. And sidenote, he most definitely is okay with child rape. Where were the police and CPS for his sons and nephews? Where is that outrage?

The lies! You can’t drive across the country with only $12 in your account. Did I miss something she went from Georgia to California to Nevada! @foodsthatstartwiththelette1745Ай бұрын
Yeah you can switch the lyrics but there is a feeling (Holy Spirit) from gospel music (as it’s to praise God) that you CANNOT get from secular music. Like you said you go and listen from time to time yourself… why if it doesn’t mean anything. I do not attend church right now and understand hypocrisies in it. I also know that’s because ppl with be ppl as they are Not the Lord so I do not expect perfection. Love your show and we can agree to disagree as adults but baby this show was heavy on being anti-Christian. Please talk about other religions when you bring up Christianity.
