Everything about bc seemed so much more green and vibrant. It's dull and dim in 2021. Love this look back to the glory days of BC as a whole, BC Rail at its peak.

Rode the Budd many times way back in the day when it was still the PGE...before that I rode PGE before the line made it from North Vancouver to Squamish...Union Steamship out of Vancouver to the pier at Squamish where the passage was waiting...the open observation car was a treat.

Great video footage! Nice to see most of the passing/passed freights in their entirety, a nice refresher for what equipment was in use at the time. Nice to see the territory from 16:38 to 26:18 (top of Pavillion horseshoe to north of Hilltop) that area is rather inaccessible and I haven't seen many other videos of that stretch of track. Good to hear the banter between the crew and charter passengers too. A few locations: 8:40 looks to be Retaskit siding. The run by at 17:55 would be at Moran siding. The siding and wye at 30:35 is Kelly Lake. The siding at 34:35 would be Potter (by the track arrangement), and the meet with 4612 south is at the south end of Exeter. Passing the freight at 40:12 would be the north end of Onward siding with the dry slide bridge shortly north of it. 44:09 is at the south end of Williams Lake Yard (The South Yard) 46:33 is the bridge over the Quesnel River just before the yard there. And I assume 48:44 would be at the main yard in Prince George. I look forward to the continuation of the trip.

I like the color scheme! Reminds me of the old South Australia Railways (later ANR) Bluebird Railcars!

I used to ride the Cariboo from Squamish to Williams Lake. Great ride, beautiful scenery. Not too bad for comfort either.
