You're a joke. What was the alternative? Doyle holding up the ball for 30 seconds or so, picking it up and wasting more time. Yeovil's game would actually have gone quicker had they passed it back, than if Doyle hadn't kicked it out at all.

The joke is Birmingham are complaining about sportsmanship. They were time wasting, the lad didn't go off and wasn't hurt. He was lying on the ground wasting time, so then the keeper kicks it out of play expecting it back, which would waste yet more time. They were just as bad as Yeovil, just in a different way and they come across all holier than thou.

tbh i don't get the whole kicking the ball out of play thing, you play to the whistle so unless the ref blows and calls physios on you should keep playing. It is ridiculous anyway because it is masqueraded as sportsmanship and fans sheepishly clap a player when kicks it back yet the next minute he is diving around and feigning injures for fouls so where is the sportsmanship in that? You play to the whistle and if you kick it out tough you lose possession.

This; the referee is in charge. If yeovil had put the ball out then that's sporting play, but if you put the ball out for your own team then don't expect it back. Especially if your time wasting. But whether it was right or wrong you won anyway
