Was a great game and Southampton looked really good. It was never a red,that should be looked at as it spoiled the game and killed us off. Possibly even got us relegated (ignoring wayne rooneys time). We played some great football too and looked dangerous. Everyone else is winning down the bottom. We gotta finish strong as we have wasted most of the season now.

Overall, Southampton deserved that. The manner of the defeat is gutting, though. Never a straight red card and where did all that additional time come from. Enough positives to suggest we'll be ok - just. KRO.

The ref is a Sheffield Wednesday ST holder, so he added on that time at the end so Southampton won it

Studs up tackle into the thigh and yet we're blaming the ref. When are we going to hold the players accountable? When we drop our excuses, we'll find our results.

There's a moment when that challenge is studs up and on Smallbone's knee, but the defender removes his foot and I think it was overall just mis-timed.

Not a red card, terrible refereeing. That being said Southamptons goals were all avoidable so defensive and keeping concerns. We loomed good going forward and putting them away as a positive. Must tighten up at the back though.

Bonkers game, never a red card - but if we show that heart and aptitude against lesser teams we should have enough to avoid the drop But this is the Blues.. 😮

Southampton and Leicester are by far the best teams that have played down the blues this season which is hard enough so you don’t need shocking linesman work for the missed offside for Southampton equaliser and then a red card for a yellow card offence at best. Just to rub salt into the wounds smallbone does the same challenge on bacuna and only gets a yellow.

Blues should be absolutely fine, gone up against a recently relegated team who are right up there challenging and stuck in there for 1/3 of the game with 10 men, with everyone disappointed we came away with nothing. Other teams around us will have a drop off in form and blues will do enough to stay up. 1% chance of happening but a stansfield x che Adam’s frontline next year would be a dream.

late and studs up, i agree looked like a yellow on replay and VAR would have overruled but the ref had unconscious bias and as soon as he sees the studs pointed towards Smallbone it was always going to be red

A challenge like that so close to the knee is always a red. What if he hit him? That's a broken leg.

Studs up did it. The clash was a hard foul, but the way he lifted his leg meant red.

Strange how the challenge Smallbone did on Bacuna was exactly the same as Sanderson did on Smallbone and Smallbone only got a yellow card. Less than 15mins between the two fouls and both identical except Smallbone actually meant to hurt Bacuna, you can tell by the look on his face. The sooner VAR is in the championship the better. One team fighting for promotion got a yellow, one team fighting for survival gets a red. I wonder which team the referee follows?

Cracker of a game even with the kicker of losing to such a late goal. Great to see two teams really going at it like that. Red felt harsh at the time but when the studs are raised refs are more likely to give a red than not. KRO

Didn’t touch his knee he pulled out and they both collided. Also smallbone did same thing to bacuna and only received a yellow where’s the consistency

Question for Birmingham fans, do you think Wayne Rooneys appointment was the worst decision the clubs made in a while or did you start the season thinking yous were phucked anyway with euctace? I couldn't believe when your board went all out to get him based on his DC united and Derby stints. They surely must have spent a lot of time weighing up whether to get him or not.😮

Southampton deserved it. Criminal defending. Cannot be playing like that. It's good we can score but means nothing if we defend that badly. Sanderson and ruddy are awful. Dont care what people say, we are in real danger.

Great game to watch, red card was a bit harsh, studs were obviously high and could have been dangerous but it wasn't intentional, was probably a yellow. Well done Birmingham good luck for the rest of the season. 8:38 that pleb in the bottom right deserved everything he got lol
