Lyrics: You're scared of a world where you're needed So you never made nice with the locals But you tied me up slow with your vine, stuck It takes a few years, but they break bones It takes a few months, but our bones heal We're stronger, we tell all our school friends And they sign our cast in the playground Darling, the rest of my body It's yours, then I know you're scared Well, I'm scared too Oh, that every time I try to make lunch For anyone else, in my head I end up dreaming of you And you come to me Good morning Show me the place where he inserted the blade I'll praise the Lord, burn my house I get lost, I freak out You come home and hold me tight As if it never happened at all Good morning Show me the place where he inserted the blade Good morning Where is your light? Am I home? I will hold to my chest Where the wind can exist I will try Not to keep you too long So, clean your soup maker and breathe in Your chicken, broccoli, and everything The tug that's between us That long string Concorde bound to And my evening The good hunter's guide to a bad night Darling, I'll spoil it myself Thanks, you're leaving Well, I tried just to stroke your dreams better But darling, I see that you're not really sleeping And I know You're tired Well, I'm tired too Oh, that every time I try to make lunch For anyone else, in my head I end up dreaming of you And you come to me Good morning Show me the place where he inserted the blade I'll praise the lord, burn my house I get lost, I freak out You come home, hold me tight As if it never happened at all Good morning Show me the fifth of the cadence you want me to play Good morning Show me where to tie the other end of this chain

the fact that concorde or the plane is rendered artistically in a hyper real art style, shows the distain for manufacture, as it's all art. billy eillish style is how the media machine eats artists alive, bcnr does not want to be billy eilished. and concorde is isaacs public musician persona. it's why he quit concorde will fly fly and isaac will suffer.

Mhhhh I think it similar to the ''Best Seller Formula'' that many, many readers hate. The Best Seller formula follows a pattern in which the writer knows very well the tricks and hooks to make the reading extravagant but controlled, pretentious but tamed and also strong but easy to read and thus not really challenging but rather enjoyable and practical to perceive by a large amount of people. The Best seller formula is something that to this day is very discussed. precisely because many readers say that the writers who assume this formula *do their work thinking of the critics and not that much of their audience*, they know that literary critics love: a hot mystery, some romance, some plot twist and strong and disturbing imagery that often is described with a distant language to make it documentary and not shocking or provoking. And yes, it works very well and it works for lots of writers. In terms of music, I assume that some people say that when musicians do this: long tracks, full of instruments, lows and downs, improvisation, crescendos pompous orchestration and such. Many albums have been addressed like this: ''KidA'' by Radiohead and ''Illinois'' by Sufjan Stevens as examples that come to my mind. I understand what they mean when they say that this is ''manufactured to be lauded by critics'' because it is something that happens and it doesn't have to do with how good or bad the album is, it has more to do with how current occidental critics rank good and bad music. I explain this, having not heard this album yet.
@1239tdog2 жыл бұрын
It hurts so much listening to this song. My girlfriend broke up with me a week and half ago and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her since. I relate so much to the emotions expressed in the lyrics of this song (and Concorde). I just want so badly to see her and have her hold me and tell me everything will be okay, but I know she won’t be doing this for me anymore. Our relationship was built on unhealthy premises despite the love we had for one another and I always knew somewhere in me it would have to come to an end. I was using her affirmations as a scapegoat of facing the fears that have been holding me over my entire life. That last line “show me where to tie the other end of this chain”, nothing has ever hit me as hard. I miss her deeply but I know that I need to work on myself so I can do better for the people I love in the future. Don’t know if a piece of art has ever quite touched me the way this song has today.

This is actually now my all-time favorite song from any artist/band. The melancholy and nostalgia from Issac Wood's poetic lyrics to the Traverse Town-influenced motif throughout the song as it crecendos into a fireworks display of existential awakening for the protagonist is simply naught but tearjerking in the most strangely uplifting way possible. Isaac’s first line, “you’re scared of the world where you’re needed…” is some of the hardest hitting stuff I’ve heard in my 17 years of life. I’ve recently been out of school for a while because of social anxiety and just other emotional shit you get from being a teenager in high school, my friends are always asking when I’m going to go back in full time and not just after school tutoring and god, this line is really making me feel bad for not seeing them. Thank you so much everyone in the band and, godspeed Isaac, thanks for writing fucking amazing lyrics. Update: I finally went into school today for the first time in about 3 months and it was honestly the best day of school. My friends were very happy and surprised to see me. I see more of my friends tomorrow, and I never thought I would be so happy going to school. I’m so glad my brain decided to work lmao Update #2: I passed 11th grade. It really took some effort because I guess I failed my English class by like 2 points and my teacher didn’t want to show any mercy to me, but I still did it. My senior year starts in like 2 weeks and I’m nervous but excited because I don’t have any big classes. And hopefully I have some damn classes with my friends. Also my summer was incredible. I literally couldn’t have wished for a better time. And for a last hurrah I’m going to an Animal Collective show with my brother and a bunch of his friends!! Update #3 January 9th 2023 I dont know if people really care to see these updates (or if anyone expects to see them) but I’m doing really good. Firstly, ever since my senior year of highschool started back in early September I’ve only been on an incline it seems. I’ve really rooted myself in my friend group and we do dnd and stuff it’s really nice. I also have a boyfriend and just everything with him is going so smoothly it’s baffling to me that I’m blessed like this. secondly, ive been relistening to AFUT for my end of the year album placements and as soon as Concorde started playing I felt like bursting into tears. It reminded me of the days when I would listen to it and Boards of Canada on the days of my afterschool tutoring, and at the end of the classes when I would walk out of the school and see the empty parking lot and the beautiful sunset in the dark blue sky, and the snow on the ground. I’ve never had a song make me feel such a visceral feeling of place, it’s too hard for me to explain but I feel like some of you would maybe relate idk. But anyways I hope y’all are truly doing good and if you aren’t, please use me as an example that you can get better. I know I wasn’t in the worst place but it still sucked so much. So please… if you are reading this and you are lost in this moment in your life, just trust me it always gets better. It has to.

La primera vez que escuché está canción tardé mucho en llegar a ella. Me había quedado estancado a medio camino en Chaos Space Marine y Good Will Hunting. Esta canción me dejó con la boca abierta. No atiné a reaccionar más allá de ponerla en bucle. Qué belleza. Qué maravilla.

I genuinely think that this can can be argued as the greatest song of all time
I am listening to this song for the first time from my Spotify Missed Hits. I have never heard something that sounds so much like early Bright Eyes (songs from Oh Holy Fools anyone?) which I am a huge fan of. this is incredible. I love it. Instant fan!

When listening to AFUT (I always listen to it all the way through) I may start crying on Concorde, or Bread Song, or even Haldern. But if by then my eyes are still tear free, this song always works to fill them. A more cathartic song has never been written.

Letra 😁: You're scared of a world where you're needed So you never made nice with the locals But you tied me up slow with your vine, stuck It takes a few years, but they break bones It takes a few months, but our bones heal We're stronger, we tell all our school friends And they sign our cast in the playground Darling, the rest of my body It's yours, then I know you're scared Well, I'm scared too Oh, that every time I try to make lunch For anyone else, in my head I end up dreaming of you And you come to me Good morning Show me the place where he inserted the blade I'll praise the Lord, burn my house I get lost, I freak out You come home and hold me tight As if it never happened at all Good morning Show me the place where he inserted the blade Good morning Where is your light?

I had someone like that. It was nice while it lasted, and i felt loved for once in my life. But nothing, nothing can prepare you for the inevitable ending. And in the end, i wish i never had a taste of it, im trying to forget it ever happened because of how painful it is. I wouldnt wish the amount of world ending heartbreak on anyone, not even my worst enemy.
