Its great to see this new movement of post-rock bands, who actually want to make beautiful music instead of just 3 minute pop songs. And its great to see that its not just confined to Iceland

I listen to this music when ever I want to feel inspired and alive. I view things in such different way that it makes me wonder off. Especially when driving... I see the wheat fields and the city... dunno its amazing it's a weird feeling this music gives me that no other does.

realhewdshug, i agree with you to an extent. tera melos is so complex and in your face- i love it. but at the same time TWDY simplicity is just as beautiful. i enjoy drawn out repetetive songs like this, cuz i can actually handle it. amazing band

The post-rock community is a small one. So instead of arguing lets listen to some awesome music and be happy we have something in common in this mad world that we live in.

I saw them live in Austin a few weeks ago. I liked how the drummer when through 4 sticks during just one song and how there were shredded sticks on the ground below him. He doesn't hold back. One of them told me they'd be playing again in Texas early summer. Can't wait.

lol, They are ambient. Says on their myspace profile. As for knowing about music.I'm a drummer and the reasons why I like these bands is because like i've stated before "It makes me have this weird inspirational feeling" Their music is not that complicated to play, their drummer does have some neat beats but over all it is a great band by what they portray with out having any type of form of lyrics. Now all of you should stop arguing and enjoy the music.

Amazing song, one of the best post-rock songs ever, from a stunning album... Also... This World Belongs To The Strong are just starting out and need our support.. Bloody good post-rock in the G!YBE vein. Find them by putting "/thisworldbelongs" after the myspace address.

TVTsteven, i see your point, but a person's understanding of music, regardless of the setting, goes only as far as their mind is seeking to understand, if you're at a concert for the experience, or to rock out(not gonna happen with this band), or just chill, you might oversee the meaning of a song. Just as easy to do if you're at home on itunes.

I could listen to this song every day and I still like it so much! Really, this is so peaceful and dreamy...Simply amazing and totally breathtaking! I love them! btw...I thought this might interest some of you as I saw some comments about good bands some posts before.. SOme days ago I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia". You really should give a listen to their song "Falling into nothingness" Breathtaking newcomer..trust me...it's totally worth!

I find this music, and post-rock music in general, more sincere and heart felt than any other form of music. I guess the lack of lyrics or a front man, also means lack of ego. They all equally created this mass of awesome sound just coming at you. It's sick. This is one of the most beautiful and majestic rock songs I've ever heard, and those adjectives used to describe a rock genre are not common, at least not in my experience.

ya man i totally agree thats what I mean about understanding music on a certain level if you take most ppl to a TWDU show or an EITS show they wont get it they'll probably be like what is this? but the fact that when i saw eits they were one of the best i've ever seen and ive seen so many bands from rock legends to the greatest underdogs but eits was just an amazing close your eyes and leave your body kind of experience haha

@SuperAnimalDrummer niiice. i listen to a lot of deathcore, brutal death, grind and math, but this is REALLY good. shows that music need not be super technical super shred and shit to be good. it sucks how metal fans tend to be one of the most close minded people in the scene, having these sincere forms of music underrated. props to this band. me is likes tis. :))

@nerdheadbanger i get what youre saying, but for me personally, i love explosions more. i get a full story from their songs, and idk, it elicits some sort of strong emotions for me. i think this will destroy may be more "talented," but i dont get that same sense of purity or whatever from their songs. but i still absolutely love them, i just hold explosions in a higher regard.

wow explosions is about one of the best live bands ive ever seen they arent just playing music when you see them live they are entering a different world I guess you just have to understand music on a certain level these guys are good im a fan but can not compare to eits

I wasn't the one who used a bunch of hilarious profanity to defend myself I just said in order to appreciate EITS compared to so many other bands live you just have to understand music on a certain level.

@SuperAnimalDrummer and the weird thing about this is that there are so many people who thing differently. sad enough. they think that without a front man or lyrics the music lacks something...

Does anyone know why the guitarists uses a laptop? (besides playing the electronic drums) Does he have sound effects in there or something? I really want to know. I started writing music like this and I LOVE their sound and I want to write somewhat the same ting, but with my own style to it. If anyone knows the guitarist's equipment, please let me know. Thank you so much.

A couple of reasons. The way the music is played. Not saying they are copying at the drive in but its a little more on the indish than ambient side. As for god is an austronaut, they have a great drummer and more type of unique ambient music. I know these bands are indie but more ambient than indie. Haven't listened to any of the new TWDY tracks.
@Kinshasa920016 жыл бұрын

This most DEFINITELY won't kill me... but it may remind me of a amateur Mogwai, or scrappy Explosions... I guess continuing the tradition of introspective, twinkly white boy build ups can continue to be called "post-rock"... but there is very little "rocking" involved. AND. God bless you digital delay...
@thomasthejung14 жыл бұрын
@texaspunk911 E.I.T.S. is actually much better and more complex than This will destroy you. Though they're really good, explosions is infinitely more complex and beautiful...

a silver mt.zion is not ambient as it has lyrics. Doesn't fall under TWDY and EITS. More like at the drive-in type of music. Which is amazing music but doesn't really belong in this category.

It was a joke. I understand they don't sound like mogwai but this song is so long, useless and drawn out... just like... Mogwai. Listen to Tera Melos. Expand your mind. Get away from standard time. More importantly Go to college.

Dude, that's garbage.....A silver Mt. Zion is nothing like At the Drive-in! I mean both amazing bands don't get me wrong, but seriously, nothing alike! A Silver Mt. Zion is bordering instrumental/ambient due to their very long songs and epic build ups but some songs have lyrics so I'd consider them post rock, At The Drive-in is based heavily on lyrics as opposed to build ups and instrumental work.
