Intersections of Disability Justice and Transformative Justice

In response to heightened levels of abuse and violence experienced by disabled people, disability justice organizers have developed tremendous knowledge and creative approaches to care, safety, and preventing and stopping violence without relying on the state. How do disability justice strategies and knowledge inform transformative justice practices? In this video, disability justice and transformative justice organizers Leah Lakshmi Piepzna Samarsinha and Elliott Fukui explore some of the intersections of these movements.

Love!!! My adult kids and I have been through hardships because of community services lacking and government services worse.....1 of my daughter's is 23 with Autism....We live in rural Indiana and no support.....I will never give up!!!! So thankful I found this today!!!! God bless you 🙌👐💜❤❤

This is just asking for basic human rights; “justice” would actually be that perpetrators of harm (and their descendants) would suffer the same crimes against humanity that they inflicted upon disabled people like torture, forced sterilization, Filicide (and then being blamed for being murdered), etc

@@Bigfishfun333 neurodivergent is an umbrella under which conditions like autism, adhd, etc. fall. neurodivergent ppl can have different modes of communication, doing tasks, physical movement, sensory experiences, etc. than what is considered "normal". that however doesn't make them more stupid or less capable - just less suited to live in a neurotypical world like ours.
