Excellent video, shows all the steps with important valuable extra tips. Only thing I could add is torq for coil bolts 8# and plugs13#. From a fellow mechanic twisting wrenches since 1966, my high praise, well done!

Is the spark plug socket different than a regular socket?
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt10 ай бұрын
A spark plug socket has a rubber grommet inside that holds the spark plug when installing or taking out so it doesn't fall out.

do u have to change the ignition coil same time have about 100,000 miles
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt Жыл бұрын
I'm sure they have a "suggested" replacement time period, but I've found that a coil is either good or is bad. As soon as a coil misfires, etc, then you'll get a code right away and then replace it.

Thanks for the video man! No need for torque wrench on the new spark plugs?
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt Жыл бұрын
Everything has a torque spec. Spark plugs are generally around 15-18ft-lbs and I just do it by "feel" as I've done so many of them.
@Domjulio1987 Жыл бұрын
@@BuildItWheelItExploreIt that's good to know. I was gonna spend another $25 😆

@Grief0032 if you didn't have to press those tabs, that's weird! The tabs hold the connectors securely in place, or they could come off and have no connection.

Have you had trouble with the 2.4 engine burning oil and if so what are some ways to correct it?
@BuildItWheelItExploreItАй бұрын
It does seem to burn some, and it is a known issue. I change my oil early, always at 25% left on the computer.
@donnabrunet66344 ай бұрын
I've only got one rubber grommet. Is that a problem?
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt4 ай бұрын
For the plastic cover? If so, it really shouldn't be an issue.

What’s that tube in front of the spark plugs and goes down behind the oil cap…. I broke the plastic tubing it was so brittle but anyway I need a new one AutoZone don’t know what it is or oriellys any info would be great thank you

Sorry, I didn't see your comment until now. I'm assuming it's some type of EVAP hose. I doubt any local auto parts store will have that part. I know there is a gm parts website that you should be able to get that item from or from a local junk yard etc.
