Damn man!! congratulations! that's surely the best kitchen ever :P I'm just begining with my Lego train collection, I've got a few sets when I was a little boy and most of the parts got lost. I elt really surprised when i knew about the change of system from 9V to the Rc, but after playing it for I while I realized is not bad at all! still miss the metal rails though

Love Your video, very well made. I would like to make a truss bridge like your one over the window. Is there anyway you could give me a parts list of technic blocks and legos needed? Its hard to tell how the horizontal beams tie in to each other. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Fucking awsome set up you have! Just found all my lego trains. Didnt know there that collectable now days!
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
I have collected them over the years. You can get the ones that are not offered by Lego anymore on Bricklink although it will cost you. There is a cool looking high speed train slated for release in the early part of 2013 so keep an eye out for that one.
@VOIDM312 жыл бұрын
Awesome but, watch out on the truss bridge, you can see it bend down when a train goes over it.
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
Well the price for each is different based on what comes in the box. The red Passenger train is about $130.00 US and still available on Lego's site. The rest range from expensive to very expensive at Bricklink. It just depends on what condition you would like to get your set in.

I used 1x14 technic bricks joined with either 1x4 or 1x8 plates in roughly equilateral triangles. The deck is formed by one 1x14 technic brick and two hinge plates, one at each end. It is a pretty basic design repeated over and over.

how did you make the bridge?

Can you make a video on how you made this
@BobLilly11 жыл бұрын
On the Super Chief I crammed in two Power Functions train motors (88002). The rest of the trains are running stock.
@BobLilly11 жыл бұрын
Some of these trains are available on the official lego website. Some are no longer in production and are for resale on BrickLink (Google it) for a much higher price.

LOL In 3:37 The lego train is going to fall and break into little tiny pices
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
The track was mostly purchased on Bricklink from a number of seller. It will run you about $3.00 per piece since they don't produce the 9V track anymore.

How is the bridge so strong!?
@xvernity235411 жыл бұрын
where did you buy the train?
@BobLilly11 жыл бұрын
The strength is from the geometry of triangles.
@res0ynb212 жыл бұрын
and also, where did you get that track?

where did you get those lego trains?
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
@MooMooCowc4 1. No, the Metroliner is still running on a 9V motor. 2. My favorite passenger train is the Santa Fe Super Chief, favorite cargo train is the BNSF.
@res0ynb212 жыл бұрын
how much are the ones that you used in this video?
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
It's mostly triangles.

I'd start my search on Amazon. There are a wide range of prices depending on what you want.

Have you tried to build a main bridge without the pillar?
@BobLilly11 жыл бұрын
I would really have to strengthen the main span but I think it can be done.
@jabz1010 жыл бұрын
Hey this is awesome! How long are the unsupported spans of bridge? I'm looking to do something similar, need to create a bridge that spans a 1.8 meter section and another bridge for a 2 meter section. Can you elaborate further on the parts list for your bridge. Thanks
@BobLilly10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the longest span is roughly 280 studs in length. It's made almost entirely of 1x14 technic bricks. I joined the 1x14 technic bricks with 1x8 plates, one on top and one on bottom. For the diagonal members you can get away with using 1x4 plates. To join the diagonal members with the horizontal, use a friction pin. The lateral bracing is one 1x14 technic brick with a 1x4 hinge plate on each end.
@jabz1010 жыл бұрын
Bob Lilly great thanks, and so how is the train track attached to the bridge?
@BobLilly10 жыл бұрын
Jaidev Patel It's not really. It just lays on the lateral braces.
@jabz1010 жыл бұрын
Bob Lilly Great thanks, exactly what bricks is your support tower made of? I may need to do the same.
@BobLilly10 жыл бұрын
The support tower is 2 1x14 bricks and 1 1x6 brick connected with 3 1x4 hinge plates. Then a 1x2x5 brick on top of each end of each brick... and repeat.
@BobLilly12 жыл бұрын
because they are so hard to put on, i am almost never satisfied with how i have placed them.

Nope, it stood for over six months but had to be taken down to repaint the ceiling. I was strong and sturdy, it could hold a lot more weight.
