As an owner of a Karoq 110TSI Style with the premium pack, I would say that the Škoda is a pretty good car. The travel assist usually works really well and the handling is great. Also, the Varioflex seating is perfect when you are moving house as you can simply remove the seats. As for fuel economy, it was able to achieve around 5.4l/100km on the highway and 7.8l/100km around town (hilly suburb, that's why)

I bought a 2019 karoq with premium pack. The car was one of the best purchases in my car life journey. I owned a golf R and a Macan at that time but this Karoq was the best value. The 1.5L engine with dct gives ridiculous low fuel economy. On highway I achieved under 6Km/100km. In addition, the rear seat can be taken out entirely to maximise the boot space.

Regarding "The 1.5L engine with dct gives ridiculous low fuel economy. " you mean that in city the fuel consumption is very high? I consider buying the same version. What's your opinion? Thanks!

First video I've seen of yours. Very good . I just got rid of 2.0 tsi sport line(last week) after 2.5 yrs and replaced it with 1.5tsi sport line. I do miss the acceleration but as you correctly state it is jerky around town . The 1.5 tsi is smoother and easier I think and I'm seeing 46mpg V 38mpg(am in UK). Keep up the great work! 4:07

Fully optioned, this came within a couple grand of my Ateca, which has the one spec that is similarly optioned. The difference? 4.9 seconds to 100 (I have done a 4.77 this far) vs 7 seconds at best. Golf R (sightly detuned motor) vs Golf R (massively detuned) motor. My advice, as the Karoq IS a nice car, is if you buy it, base model or nothing. And even the flagship with EVERY option doesn't get you a very good sound system with sub. Just the standard (admittedly 8 speaker) one. But yeah, if you can live without a few safety and lux features, base model is a fine car and drives much better than something like an MG HS AWD Essence X which on paper has more power and torque but the transmission destroys any chance of making the most of it, plus very saggy unrefined suspension vs very good suspension. So you'd be buying the Karoq over that for the drive. But the standard kit in the MG and interior trim makes the Karoq look bad in comparison. So it's all a balancing act. The point is, TLDR; Karoq is very expensive for what it is when you want leather seats, blind spot/adaptive cruise, adaptive suspension, etc etc, the works, and just isn't worth it. If you are going to do that, get the Ateca or Formentor no contest. In fact, just get the base Formentor 140Kw same motor as the Karoq with the one option, the luxury pack, and it will be similarly price and a much more advanced care with amazing suspension and handling. Trust me on that. That's as close a comparison as you can get as the cars are literally on an identical platform. T-Roc? Well, it's truly hideous inside, truly. So much piano black. Yech. But the Karoq is priced so poorly when option that it's not far off a VW Tiguan 162 KW LOL and that again is a better car. I think you know where I am going with this.. Karoq fully optioned, which is how the car SHOULD be stock for the price and power outputs, is a rip off. At least make all the safety kit standard FFS Skoda.

I've had Skodas for years. Great value cars, but do not, under any circumstances, buy one with a 'Panorama' sun roof. They invariably fail, and if it happens outside of the warranty period, you're up for big bucks, and Skoda won't help you. Or do what I did and just rip the sliding fabric cover out, never make the mistake again, and tell others.
@Wedgetail96 Жыл бұрын
Great to see a car maker allowing the customer to choose if they want the sun roof or not. Many normal customers (ie, not motoring journalists) simply don’t want it. As a result those of us not wanting it, have to opt for usually the penultimate level as the top will have a compulsory sun roof (Kia, Subaru).

It’s sad to think that $50,000.00 for a smaller than midsize suv without lane keep assist is considered “good value” in 2023.

As a person who rented a 2021 Skoda Karoq 110TSI, it was pretty zippy even though it is the base model and was very comfortable and spacious for the size. For $45k I think it is a pretty good price.

I don’t know if you get this in the Australian market but in the UK market you can get a Sportline with 2wd manual and a 1.5TSI 148bhp 184.00 torque and a suggested mpg of 44.80mpg according to AutoTrader figures. A brand new 24 plate is listed £34,190 on AutoTrader

I own Karoq 1.5 TSI with dsg for 28K in 2019. So Skoda forgot that the car is a budget car, I can't justify the recent price hike for almost identical car in 2019 with even better engine and dsg in entry level.

To get the real 4x4 mode is necessary to press the "OFF ROAD" button on the central panel (not "MODE"). Only in this mode are activated inter-axle and axle differencial locks.
@blazbohinc4964 Жыл бұрын
The new models with Haldex 5 will do AWD transition dynamically as needed.. but if you put it in offroad, it'll be on all the time. The magic of Haldex.. the only downside still is that you have to spin the driveshaft from the trans all the way back to the Haldex unit in front of rear diff. So there are some parasitic losses.

We just purchased the Kodiaq (Karoq’s bigger sister) in the RS version. After driving it for a week, I 100% agree with your assessment regarding the level to buy in at. The sportline would have been fine…. Having said that, had we purchased the sportline, we’d alway wonder if we should have gone the extra mile… Damn you, brain 😂

I've had the 2ltr 190bhp sport line for about a year. Very nippy and can't really fault it although I did have to turn down the soundaktor module. Fun in sport but annoying in normal.

Every time I see someone comment that a car is boring or that the interior is boring, I can only think of one thing: they have no idea what they're talking about, or more likely, they just want to say something negative under the guise of being "funny." Anyway, this really lowers the quality of the entire video with the supposedly dismissive attitude of the person making the video. The reality is different, and it's more likely that the person doing the review will never be able to afford that type of car. It's the same story as with the Top Gear show-no matter the type of car, every one of them gets trashed if it wasn't made on the island (referring to the UK).

I'm always amazed by how cheap cars are when they are not taxed to the moon 🤦♂️ In Denmark, where I live, the testes model and trim level would cost the equivalent of 142k AUD. I just bought 2,5 year old Karoq with the 1.5 TSI and 45k km on the clock, which cost me around 63k AUD - and that's even considered cheap here 🙈
