I mean, even out of context, the song crushes you. Just listening to the lyrics, it's about a man whose best friend just ditched him. And its common for geeks (and nerds) to have one or two friends throughout school. So just the thought of losing that friend to the popular kids, and having to brace through school alone... It hurts so much. We have ALL been there; or could easily imagine what it would have been like. And of course George delivers the performance beautifully too.

He always says he brings a different interpretation to it, and it's evident.
