This was fantastic for something done in only two hours, and just amazing in general. I felt like he didn't quite get Scar's wit right though. Scar's evil and insane, but he's calm. He's very quiet and contemplative, only breaking out in full rage at the most extreme of times. I feel like the guy who played Scar kinda overplayed his boisterousness and stepped over his psychotic cunning.

100% agree. I would love to try it again some day.

He's not found the character completely, scar is shown to be more composed and smooth until the final chorus in comparison to always being furious

Very true. My issue with performing scar here was this: we only had I think 2 or 3 hours to rehearse this scene, i felt I had to sing loud rather than controlled over the other sounds, and I didn't do the research I had needed. But the point of the club at the time was exactly that: Broadway off Broadway, rehearsing random scenes with random people, and having an amazing time. :) Thanks so much for the constructive criticism, and for taking the time to watch!

No offense but scar had waaaaay to much yelling. I'm scar for the lion king jr. Broadway production and as scar, I use a little insanity as well but also keep it down a bit with the character's more suave and elegant delight and texture. He's extremely psychotic, though he keeps it in until the end of the song. Allow his insanity to spark at some points, such as "Just listen to teacher!" or "IDIOTS!" then back off and go back to the evil yet elegant scar. Use these notes and you shall be a wonderful scar indeed! Good luck!

Agreed. I was much too boisterous back in 2011. But it was all for fun and I wanted to try something a little different. I hope your show went well! :)

I totally get you but i see where this guy is coming from. Making it more of the movies character is different than making it the broadway character what I mean is that it needs energy and clearly scar doesn’t always have that

Yo this scar is dope! I know he doesn’t do the flamboyant thing, but it’s amazing seeing his own take and the anger in his voice!

i was at a lion king play where we managed to put the whole think together in two weeks, with a cast of 70 kids. The play actually turned out decent! (in case you're wondering, i was rafiki :D)

The Lion King Musical at my school uses a similar choreography as this one! I know this because I'm a hyena. Now I know where my musical teacher got the choreos.

I'm in this play and in our script, the line is "yes our teeth and ambitions are bared, be prepared!"
@heygus205 жыл бұрын
You weren't being rude! I completely mangled the lines. If you look and listen closely I just say the first line again because I needed *something* haha. If only I had had more than 2 hours. ;)
