New headcanon. Scar didn't die by the hyenas. He created a band with them. He tossed aside the idea of being king of the Pride Lands and decided to be the king of metal and rock. Disney tried to wash out any Nazi imagery. The original animated Lion King showed a very Nazi-esque visual where Scar looked over a host of goose-step marching hyenas. Who all turned to face Scar in sequence as they passed by. Very reminiscent of Nazi military parades. And of course, instead of just... reshooting a different kind of visual instead... they chickened out and cowardly just cut the entire musical number altogether.
