Be Spiritually Minded

1 Thessalonians 5:23 teaches that you are a triune being. You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. After being born again, the spirit is alive to God, but the flesh still has the nature of sin. So, the Christian's spirit is not in agreement with the sinful desires of the flesh. Romans 8:8 says that those that are "in the flesh" cannot please God. Galatians 5:17 tells us that the flesh and the spirit are fighting one against the other, and that when we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Romans 8:7 says that the carnal mind is enmity against God. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. The apostle Paul further wrote that we are to mortify the deeds of the body through the Spirit.
