You recently posted elk tier rank something or other in another vid, so I assume that’s your tier. Not trying to toot my own horn when I played this bc god knows the IDV community is one of the most self absorbed player communities to ever exist, I’m just prestating my “credentials” if you will, but I used to coach a lot of pro NAEU IDV teams and interact and play at the highest levels of the game for this server. And you are exactly right on basically everything. There’s some things that have a little more nuance to them but that stuff also ventures into more complex territories so for a basic guide I can see why you wouldn’t bother with that stuff, there’s just a lot to cover anyway. But I’ve seen a lot of low tier player guides and they’re atrocious 😭 this was just magnifique. Great video, 10/10. Amazing quality coming from a lower tiered player not to mention.

I wish people would realize that when someone saves you from basement before 1/2 and you have tide: JUST LEAVE THE BASEMENT. That is your only prerogative. To have to save someone again from basement with the hunter having increased/full presence is an absolute pain

Basically, not rescuing immediately is to buy time for your teammates. Decoding progress, going to gate, cooldown of skills (flywheel) etc. When cipher is primed and you know the hunter's teleport is on cooldown, you can rescue immediately for it will benefit you in end game because the hunter cannot teleport to the gates.

Also you might want to crouch and stand and crouch and stand to pretend like rescuing if the hunter is trying to get a terrorshock while youre rescuing instead of steadily standing beside the chair.

If you don't know how to rescue, just play First Officer, if you use the watch on the hunter, you have guarantee rescue since you get 5 seconds of tide(only if the hunter is hypnotized)

REALLLLL. i used to be a mech main around season 6 or 7 right up until she got her huge nerf to her bot and jfc. even before her nerf people would instant rescue me and the bot could decode nearly 2 ciphers on it’s own so why am i dying with not even half a cipher decoded with bot 😐

So the most important skills i learned are taking advantage of the time before half or befaore death bodyblocking endgame, and putting yourself infront of the hunter before rescuing if he's close of course to bodyblock if there are 3 ciphers left not body blocking and using elbow pad to escape after rescue or to rescue (the joystick thing) aaaah i wanna try these noww

Its up to you, personally I always save. Juke bombs until he either runs out or hits you, if you get sniped with a bomb (when you’re not at the chair yet) it might not be worth risking anymore tho. Idk maybe I should make a whole vid about something like this..

Stall, if the servivor on chair can kite for a decent amount of time you can pop a few ciphers. Maybe even get them all and trigger borrowed time.

you can stun the hunter or force them to hit the chair, in that timeframe it will be easy to run away from the hunter, even easier with tide

Time, if you’re a rescuer without tide turner in your build you’re lacking some brain cells, probably all the cells. But you farm your teammate and don’t get downed: perfect. Tides what? 20 sec I think. So 30 on the chair and 20 for tide plus another 10 to balloon and get to the chair and then the chair animation, maybe more than 10 if you’re lucky. That’s 60 seconds of essentially free decoding time for your team, considering 1 cipher is a little over 60 seconds for most survs and around 60 seconds on accelerated decoding is up that’s a free cipher for as many teammates are still alive and no rescuing. Add in the time for the hunter to now find their next target and that can be upwards of 90 seconds all for doing what feels like essentially nothing but is actually the exact proper way to rescue. This reason is also why you sell or rescue after half if you have 1 or no tide users in a match when the kiter did a not very long kite.

Yup, im so tired of these early rescues, especially against bq which is one of the easiest hunters to see when she’s gonna swing so there’s not much chance of terrorshock. I will say tho, dont come too late either if you cant bait the rescue, like i woud have mercs reach chair at 26-27 seconds and just stay there not touching the chair, like ofc the hunter will terrorshock you if you are only waiting, they act as if there’s an unwritten convention that you have to only hit them as soon as they arrive if you are a one single hit hunter. I get that they need to buy time for their team to decode, but if you cant bait the rescue you might end turning easy wins in ties out of greed.

The way she works, you send the little bot to go rescue if you're not sure you can make it without getting stuffed. Keep in mind, if you send the bot the person on chair can easily get farmed. Basically bring tide to avoid an instant down. Another thing, don't use the bot if you can make rescue yourself, unless its like right on the edge of being after half and you don't wanna risk getting terrorshocked. The bot is just a way to secure a rescue, it's like sending 2 people to save but instead one is not a player so you still have 3 people decoding. Other then that her other skill is for camping pallets, the hunter can juke them so idk how good they really are. Usually Alice players I play with struggle with their character cause they don't know how she works either so I don't have a solid opinion on her.
