Salt keeps away spirits (if I remember correctly) and it is preferred when gathering materials for spiritual related games, such as this. If I'm not wrong, there are about 1 or 2 other games that I know of that require you to use salt, mainly for safety and the ritual/game going smoothly.

One night, I was bored out of my mind so I decided to search random stuff up on the Internet just for fun. I somehow came across an article with suggestions of things to do when you're bored. One of those was to play a paranormal game, and so I searched some up. That's when I came across one-man hide and seek. I planned everything and called my friends Damir, Mateya, Yelena and Cece to tell them what we can do tomorrow. I asked my mom first because I was a huge believer and worried that the spirit may stay in the house, and at the time, she didn't believe in ghosts so she didn't care if we messed with them. She also told me that the house would be free since she'll be visiting my uncle, who was five towns away from us. I went to sleep thinking about the game. Tomorrow morning, my mom left and I went to the store to buy the doll and other things. I bought a traditional-looking doll with long brown hair, a green dress and porcelain, glassy blue eyes. I also bought a tiny knife, a red thread, some rice, a needle and a water bottle. My friends arrived late, around six o'clock and we all gathered in the bathroom downstairs, did the ritual and then ran all across the house. Damir and I hid behind the couch together while the other tree were all in my mom's bedroom. We were the only ones downstairs. We named the doll Milena, and so we waited and waited. About twenty minutes later, we heard footsteps. We thought the others got out of their hiding spot, so we chuckled about how "they were too afraid to keep still" but little did we know, it wasn't them. Out of sudden, the footsteps stopped and Damir and I started laughing, but then we heard a loud thud on the floor. Damir got up and looked, and there was nothing but the tiny knife on the floor in front of us. We saw Mateya, Cece and Yelena walking down the stairs, and just as I was about to ask why did they throw the knife there, Mateya asked, "Did you hear that too?" We quickly ran to the bathroom and found the doll in it's original place, but something was wrong: it was dry. We threw it out of the house and burned it on the road. To this day, we still don't know what really happened.
