This has got to be the realest filipino representation in a music video. The Philippines isnt just manila, jeepneys, balut, jollibee, festivals etc. There's something about the opening scene of running to the gate while lola is waiting, house surrounded by house plants, kids playing in the basketball court, big green fields where a single random cow in the background, tricycles and random family gatherings makes it genuinely heart warmingly filipino.

bea, as a filipino teenager that grew up in the united states, you will never have any idea how much this video means to me. i had so much hatred for my culture, for my name, for my skin color, because i was surrounded by white musicians and white friends and american culture for my entire life. i was bullied horrendously for it, and it beat all of my pride out of me. if i had a filipina icon to look up to when i was younger, then i would have probably had a lot more pride for my culture. thank you so, so much, bea.

bea, as a filipino teenager that grew up in the united states, you will never have any idea how much this video means to me. i had so much hatred for my culture, for my name, for my skin color, because i was surrounded by white musicians and white friends and american culture for my entire life. i was bullied horrendously for it, and it beat all of my pride out of me. if i had a filipina icon to look up to when i was younger, then i would have probably had a lot more pride for my culture. thank you so, so much, bea.
