I just want to say thank you, I only watched the last video about 4 weeks ago, just before I went on a road trip. About a week ago in cape range national park I got severely stuck on the beach, it then occurred to me that I had no recovery gear and the tide was rising fast. Remembered back to this video and it definitely saved my arse and my car, I am definitely ordering a big windscreen sticker to show my appreciation. You are an absolute legend. P.S I absolutely love your videos and have got my brother interested in them too.

One thing that might help, having never been in this situation (thankfully)... pouring the water on the *top* of the tire, to clear the sand from the treads and restore some tread depth to paddle the sand? awesome vid!

Seek Adventure Yes the shovel is the answer. Like George Hill towing USA. In his videos he nearly always digs around the wheels of the bogged beach vehicles. It should be obvious but hardly anyone mentions it but when bogged the wheels dig themselves in = the vehicle is lower as in closer to the axle centre. Digging around them & making a sand ramp allows the vehicle a good chance of driving out. As you 1st showed the water didn't work as it's never going to climb up the vertical face of the sand. Even a high gutter on a solid surface would test out many vehicles.

Have you heard of the hessian bag trick? Hessian bag full of sand in front of the tyres (same spot as max tracks) and as the tyres grab and drag under the sand inside compacts and gives you traction... cheap and compact back up supply to leave stashed in the car maybe you could try..

It’s a trick that wildland firefighters use when stuck. Lightens the load and gives the soft dirt or sand a bit more of a solid surface. They would use two thirds of the water in their tank, much more than twelve buckets of water, and a bunch of shoveling!

@stevecrop62645 жыл бұрын
It can help in hot fluffy sand, but like you found you need heaps of water and it’s time consuming. That sand was already wet and compact underneath. You weren’t moving because it was trying to climb the hill in front of each wheel. Which is why you could drive out after digging. You can’t dig your way out of soft fluffy sand.

No need to dig. get your tires turning slowly, and turn your steering wheel lock to lock slowly. It pulls the sand under the tires packing it. You slowly climb right out. There are a few vids on it. It is hard to beleive but it does work great. I saw it first on Matt's Off Road Recovery out of Hurricane Utah. A KZbinr from UAE gave him the heads up.
@LitoGeorge5 жыл бұрын
The water trick was meant to work. Because if you have to run back and forth wrong the beach, then the weight you lose will make it way easier for the vehicle to get unstuck. Your problem is that you were skinny to begin with

That's a nice experiment, I had wondered if water would help. But that was 4 1/2 minutes of digging, and YOU can drive right out. All those drivers that use the if-the-care-doesn't-move-give-it-more-gas method would still be stuck.

Hi Mate, been loving your videos over the last few days since I discovered you channel. Is it possible to run 2 solar systems to a 12 V battery? As my existing solar setup I have is a little underpowered and I wasn’t sure if I could use this one in addition to another one. Or would I have to purchase a whole new system.

If you drive on sand after a rain you will not get bogged down to begin with.Rain makes sand hard,otherwise you must have a 4wd drive vehicle with the some decent ground clearance and all terrain tires.
@marceld60615 жыл бұрын
Proof positive that all you need when bogged in sand is a little water, (...a shovel, and a set of MaxTrax 😁🤪) Not necessarily in that order. I think it goes: 1: Shovel 2:MaxTrax 3: Water to drink afterwards
