I lived in deep South Texas for several years. Beach access 6 is was my absolute favorite place. It's also my fave place to fish, especially for shark.

Nice Video....I was down there fir two months fished everyday. After access 6 between markers 7 and 8 there's a nice groove just past the 2nd sand bar caught a few Reds but KILLED the Black Tios and Hammerheads. I'd just catch Whiting and use them as bait. I stayed in a Condo but im going back again for 3 months this fall and I'm going to strictly camp up by marker 8. To me it's the freest most peaceful.place ever. Enjoyed your video bud.

We camped there for first time last weekend and our tent was way too big for the wind conditions. Anyone have any recommendations for 2 person +big dog tent! Thanks!
@i_read_bad_reviewsАй бұрын
careful putting the tent behind the fire. youd hate to wakke up to a bunch of holes when the char flys from the wind

can i drive a normal car on the beach like a Toyota Prius? Wondering if I would get stuck

I miss camping at the beach.

How did you manage to put your tent up, it's so windy up there 😳 I am going up there this weekend and that's the number one thing I'm scared off. And if I do manage to put my tent up will it come down in the middle of the night
@angryyoda12 жыл бұрын
You can buy sand stakes, or really long tent stakes. I bought 15 inch stakes at walmart really cheap.

Our big ass 12 person tent was literally a parachute lol. And our rain fly did not survive. Going again with a smaller 2-3 person tent.

Awesome video brother. Which access point did you take? Also do you know if you have to drive so far to camp, I don’t have a 4x4😅
@Baghdad_to_Bushcraft3 жыл бұрын
I took access #5 and drove until I was by myself. You can camp on any of the beach access points but they're just way more crowded closer to town. That area is more hard packed from the traffic and accessible for 2x4.

Where do I go to get to that part of the beach? Read you said access 5 but not sure where that’s at
@Baghdad_to_Bushcraft2 жыл бұрын
This was not on the Corpus side of Padre Island. Google "Beach Access 5, South Padre Island" for where I was.

I was looking for a place like this but couldn't find 1 when I went 2 days ago 😞

I drove almost to the canal separating the north and south beaches to get away from everybody. The sand isn't as packed down out there so the "day tourists" stay clear to avoid getting stuck.

Hello, when is the best time/month to camp there?
@Baghdad_to_Bushcraft3 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you mean by "best" time to go. Obviously during the summer there will be more people and it will be hotter. This trip was in July.

Are they relatively secluded? The part I hate is being around people. Me and the fam just want to feel like we have a whole beach to ourselves
@kenthornton5764 жыл бұрын
nice rig, what kind of wood was that? Awful straight for Texas lol!
@Baghdad_to_Bushcraft4 жыл бұрын
Definitely not TX wood lol. That was from a Yellow Pine I cut before heading on the trip because I knew I would have to pack in my own wood.

Hey love your suburban does it have a lift kit or just big wheels ?
@Baghdad_to_Bushcraft4 жыл бұрын
Not an "off the shelf" lift, it has Z-71 springs with spacers to accommodate the tires.

Weren't bad at all. I set up camp in a spot away from the dunes so I had a nice breeze all night.
